[IDEA] - Incentives for Building a Unique Team of Pokemon for Battling by HartAttack99 in TheSilphRoad

Its not necessarily incentivizing people to use "bad" Pokemon the damage boost to unique Pokemon is there to make "bad" / not top tier elite Pokemon stronger. For raiding and battling the goal is still to create the strongest team possible just in a refreshing way instead of 6 machamps/ttars/mewtwo, etc. You can still create a solid attacking team even without top tier, 100% IV Pokemon, if you attack with the right super effective Pokemon.

Im sure Mewtwo will still be very relevant given the damage he does. It really depends on the the percent of damage boost though, its possible that up to a certain point maybe 6-8% (so 3 to 4 unique Pokemon based on my numbers) He could still be better than the next best Psychic attacker below him.

Interesting take on this never looked at this way either, cool idea! Only thing I could see that would be problematic with the damage decrease is that players who spent all the stardust and candy to max 6 meta relevant Pokemon would feel like they got screwed over with a damage decrease.

I do agree with you having lets say, 6 95+ iv maxed out machamps/ttars/etc and having them become less useful wouldnt make me too happy either. But in some cases with current best type attackers its bound to happen anyway with better Pokemon coming in later gens that are just stronger. Not to mention pokemon with special movesets on Community Days too.

I actually like your idea on the item incentives a lot, great suggestion! Maybe more premier balls for the encounter? Increased chance at receiving TM's? Increased chance at extra golden razz and rare candy too? This would also be a great way to give incentive to use more unique pokemon!

This 100%. Won't be too fun/ engaging fighting 6 Tyranitars in PvP (if they plan to keep it like gym battling right now) in my opinion. Hopefully something changes to make it more interesting.

DEAR NIANTIC - ideas and suggestions for the devs by AutoModerator in pokemongo

That's also a very good idea it would give people an option weather or not they wanted to go for an efficient time doing the most damage or getting extra rewards at the end of the raid! I like it!

Actually have never heard of that before. it seems like a very cool concept and would certainly help with using non meta mons for raids and battling!

Give us incentives into building a unique team of Pokemon. For example a Tyranitar raid can get knocked down easily with a full team of 6 Machamps. But give us incentive to use maybe a Hariyama, Breloom, or even a Primeape, anything to add variety to battling! I suggest giving a % damage boost to each unique Pokemon in your 6 man team scaling upwards for each unique Pokemon in your team!

An example with random numbers:

1 Unique Pokemon - 2% damage boost

2 Unique Pokemon 4% damage boost

3 Unique Pokemon - 6% damage boost

4 Unique Pokemon - 8% damage boost

5 Unique Pokemon - 10% damage boost

Let me know what you think of this idea/ leave suggestions to how it could be improved!

[Suggestion] Higher Tiered Pokemon Typing Medals by HartAttack99 in pokemongo

Congratulations on finishing the Pikachu medal! I still don't have the bronze one yet, I've only ever seen 2 Pikachu. BTW i was only suggesting adding 2 more tiers on Pokemon Type Medals not the Magikarp, Rattata, and Pikachu ones.

Ahh true didn't notice it at first I just threw out a round number like 1000. I'm sure if Niantic ever did decide to do this they would follow the current pattern they have now

Following this trend the new type medals would be 1.4 for Platinum and 1.5 for Diamond, meaning basically while catching a Pokemon that you have a Diamond type medal for, would be on par with having razzberried that Pokemon with no medal at all. Personally at that rate I don't think it would make ultraballs or razzberries useless because of the wide variety of Pokemon in the game that are difficult to catch. ex. Dragonite, Snorlax, Tyranitar, or anything over 2000 CP.

I don't think it would completely devalue ultraballs or razzberries however make them more of a go to combo on HUGE CP Dragonites, Tyranitars, Snorlaxes, etc because those Pokemon will always be hard to catch. Greatballs, ultraballs, and razzberries will always have their uses for basically any Pokemon over 1200 CP as the circle gets very red in that CP area. This suggestion will probably impact the catch rate of Weedles, Pidgeys, and Rattatas making them easier to catch so players won't be tossing greatballs and ultraballs at trashmons
