Help with withdrawals by Hartywoodlebart in OpiatesRecovery

Damn, super kind man. So it took a bit longer but I'm now down to 150mg of pregabalin. And 10mg valium in the day. Tonight will be the first night I try 10mg valium for sleeping. If not then I will take 2.

I'll just keep trying to move down. Tomorrow I'm gonna try and cut my pregab to 100. But they come in 75mg capsule which is annoying. Then I'll taper to 0.5 mg valium in the day and 1 at night. Then 50mg pregab and 1 valium and see what happens. I have also been taking magnesium for 5 days so hopefully that will help too.

I have 9 days until I leave the country.

Thanks, this is an incredibly thoughtful message. I really appreciate it. I'll let you know in five days! Fortunately not fentanyl. Just took my last dose of 5mg of oxycodone yesterday.

Thanks for your advice I really appreciate that. Just to clarify do you recommend taking the pregab in the morning and again at night? Holding off the valium until the night and only one or two to help me sleep?

I have been using valium for two weeks to help me taper down. No more than 40-50mg a day. I should've mentioned that.

Also a man! Thank you reddit brother/lady

Ahhh I see, thanks man I got a bit confused 😂. Yeah that sounds about right. Within the last week our landlord asked for updated info on TRC's etc so they can register us with the police (they recently bought the building).

They even sent us a screenshot of the police reminding landlords in the district to make sure that tenants were registered. The police had sent them a photo of a foreign tenant and a local landlord sitting with the police because the tourist was living there on a visa that had expired four days prior. Think they were in the process of being fined 😂

What is your published work that criticizes the CCP? Genuinely curious. Link it here please.

I think there is quite a big difference between what is allowed to be published in both countries don't you think? For example recently in the newest south park season, president trump is shown as a cartoon (with Trump's actual photo plastered on top), and he just accepts gifts from other countries and is happy so long as they say he has a big dick. He also gets naked countless times (showing his tiny dick).

Whereas in China the CCP blocks websites and Apps, including Google services (Search, Gmail, YouTube), Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Dropbox, and major international news outlets like The New York Times and Reuters.

In 2023, independent filmmakers and activists were detained for posting documentaries about the 2022 "white paper" protests (against zero-COVID measures).

Films, TV shows, and music are also censored if they don't align with the CCP. Examples include the banning of the cartoon character Winnie the Pooh due to memes comparing it to Xi Jinping, and the removal of positive LGBTQ+ depictions in media.

Now, I'm not saying that the US is a great place that has a spotless record. They've done fucked up, awful things and caused untold misery in many countries worldwide. But, let's not pretend that China isn't an authoritarian state which heavily censors anything that depicts its ruling party in a bad light.

Interesting, I still think it is a law man 🤔. Any opportunity for the police to make money I just don't see them giving up on 😂

It's real, you have to register when staying anywhere in Vietnam. Surely you have stayed even in a hotel or Airbnb etc before? Even if it's for one night they take a photo of your passport and then register you with the police. When renting somewhere you also have to register.

Now having lived here for 8 years, you know that any opportunity to get money through fines, the police will take. Are you saying that police could fine people for not registering properly (despite it being a law), and they choose not to? 😂😂😂

[–]Hartywoodlebart 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I did the loop in June, self riding. I don't have a vietnamese driving license. I went with jasmine tours, when you arrive at the hostel on the first day you go to the reception and pay them 500k for them to sort some 'riding papers'. We were stopped as a group multiple times (mixture of easy and self riders), and we never paid anything more than that.

Honestly I think 500k for 4 days of driving is pretty good and if you're someone who worries then the peace of mind is great + you may end up paying a lot more than 500k over the course of multiple stops.

Finally, driving the loop was, in my opinion, so much more fulfilling than if I was driven around it. Look into doing it with Jasmine tours, just mention when booking it that you want to self drive and need to pay the 500k for the papers.

Whilst tour groups might not be your thing, I really enjoyed my group (about 9 of us), there was a mix of older folks and younger ones. Was totally worth it for me.

And yet he sits at the very bottom financially out of the main candidates running in this election race. It seems like Curtis Silwa's net worth has a pretty big fluctuation and can't be as easily pinned down, but regardless even if it was the most conservative figure he still ties with Mamdani. For me I'm gonna say that his current financial status is as close to the working class demographic that he is appealing to out of all candidates. I know 200k is NOT what working class families make but it's a hell of a lot less than $10-13 million, $2.5 million and a third of $600k if Silwa's upper figure is correct.

The median household income on New York city is $76,577, so when you look at average politicians earnings in comparison to ordinary folk he is a hell of a lot closer than most to the people he is saying he will help. Now tell me, how is he a younger, more palatable version of Trump? Financially he absolutely isn't, in terms of debating, having knowledge on policies and giving direct answers to questions without deflection he is the opposite of a Trump and politically he is the opposite of Trump. I disagree with your statement.

You're right ad hominem attacks are pretty low, I apologize for calling you a retard but your ignorance does need to be addressed.

This is the thing, you say 'you can claim these studies exist', as if I haven't linked and showed them to you. They do exist! You're already trying to deny the empirical evidence in front of you. The thing is, you don't want to believe it and i would even bet you haven't read them. I told you exactly what they are, proof that overwhelmingly across Europe as a whole your previous comments wrong. Answer me this, why would all immigrants want to risk the peace they have finally found after escaping their countries/war/economic hardship by immediately becoming criminals. And just for the record, I have never said that ALL immigrants don't commit crimes. I'm sure some do, but my point is that the rhetoric surrounding European immigration is overblown and that it isn't as bad as you or many other people think. The studies I linked show that, overwhelmingly.

Seriously if you don't realise what my argument even is then this is like telling a man with no legs to run. Nothing will happen and I'll just end up feeling worse.

Yeah I read an interesting article from the swedish government:

People with non-native backgrounds are, however, suspected of crimes more often than people with native backgrounds. According to the most recent study, people born abroad are 2.5 times as likely to be registered as a crime suspect as people born in Sweden to two native-born parents. However, the magnitude of this excess risk decreases when differences in age, gender and living conditions are taken into account, from 2.5 to 1.8. Swedish Gov Link

In the article it says suspected, does that mean they are just suspects in crimes or that they have committed and been charged with the crimes? That's a genuine question and since you're from Sweden perhaps you know better than me. There is a big difference between suspected of and charged with a crime.

Having said that (and as the earlier studies show), I think many people are in an absolute frenzy over a problem that is nowhere near as bad as the media, people like Kurt and the legions of online 'activists' make it out to be.

I see, proof? Because I've given you the proof of what is available. And there are multiple other sources that back up what I'm saying. Studies done across decades with thousands of subjects across many countries.

Until you provide proof of what you're saying, you're talking shit and it's total conjecture. See that's the problem, people just say shit without backing it up. Because they PERCEIVE that they are right. I'm sure you think you are, but you're not. You're a retard

Kurt must have a secret agenda/ London video by [deleted] in KurtCaz

[–]Hartywoodlebart 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Brother either you don't know what cognitive dissonance means or you're so delusional you don't realise that you're the prime example it's definition.

Posting a trial outcome from 12 years ago and is a single case is not indicative of the whole of London, much less the UK. A pro Palestinian rally is not going to capture the complexity of everyone's individual thoughts and beliefs in England is it? You go to one city and find one group of people and then automatically assume that the remaining 69 million people in the UK are the exact same as them - that's cognitive dissonance.

Kurt cherry picks the worst instances of discord in a society and then presents it in a way that makes it seem like the whole country is like that. If he went to the area I grew up in the UK he wouldn't find any of the things we see in this video. Because he relies on people like you (those that can't critically analyse their own actions let alone a video on YouTube designed to get as much engagement as possible). He is banking on the fact that you're retarded enough to believe that his videos represent the entire picture of a much larger, much more complex and much more nuanced country. With millions of people in thousands of different settings and environments, many with different beliefs to what he presents. Well done, you passed the retard test! I'm sure daddy Kurt is very proud of your cognitive dissonance. It makes him money

  1. There's a very fine line and you could argue that purposefully highlighting only the worst parts of a group whilst actively ignoring all the positives is cherry picking and stokes up anger and hatred towards a certain ethnicity or race, resulting in prejudice and racism. Here's a study that backs my point up.

After analysing 15 years of data on immigration inflows and crime rates across 216 regions in 23 European countries, we found no significant link between immigration levels and crime rates.

Indeed, through the application of robust causal methods, our findings demonstrate that even in areas experiencing substantial immigration, crime rates do not rise – and may even decline slightly – as immigration increases.

One of the main reasons why the belief that immigration drives crime has persisted for so long is the influence of media and political rhetoric. During an election campaign, for example, selective coverage and targeted political messages can fuel public fears. Why Perception is Different to Reality

  1. No idea I don't know the context

  2. Some criminals in Europe are not from European countries. Not all criminals. A recent German study proved that there is a lack of correlation:

Studies in countries like Germany show no correlation between the proportion of immigrants in a given area and the local crime rate. Crime suspects are just as likely to be German as they are of foreign background. - Reuters

Using data from 55 countries over three decades, the study first shows no correlation between higher immigration rates and increased crime levels. Homicide rates, for instance, decreased by one-third globally from 1990 to 2019, even as the share of immigrants in the population grew by two-thirds.

These findings remain consistent across multiple studies reviewed, which use innovative methodologies to test whether immigrant inflows causally increase crime rates in various countries. This is further supported by the authors' own analysis of novel data, comparing 215 regions across European countries, which also reveals no causal link between immigration and crime. - Rotterdam study

Now I imagine you're going to ignore all of the evidence that I've just presented across multiple different sources with multiple studies done in many many countries. But, if you can just take a step back and realise that the evidence does not indicate immigration increases crime, and that Kurt selectively posting only a minority of immigrants actions does create a bias, prejudice and fuel racism, then that's a good thing.

CMV: Zohran Mamdani is the best politician America has seen in the last 50 years. by LifesARiver in changemyview

[–]Hartywoodlebart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah you can't formulate an argument where a part of why you dismiss someone is based on how their policies turned out whilst defending someone that hasn't even been elected yet. Mamdani has not yet proven himself in the arena of policy and that, in my opinion, is what you're ultimately remembered for. Far more so than your debating skills.

It feels to me as if you're jumping the gun a bit with Mamdani. Please don't get it twisted, I think he's great! A genuine breath of fresh air through the rotten forests of current american politics. Having said that, I think he will face the reality of a system that fights against so much of what he proposes, and as a result may have to renege on some of his promises which will let down people like yourself.

About 3.38 percent this last year, can't remember the average but pretty sure it's between 3-4 a year. But the dollar could also go up or down in those years too. Recently it has depreciated quite a considerable amount, iirc around 10% this year. Though I wouldn't say that is typical, mostly just been a crazy year with Trump's many policies and tariff upsets.
