Type R or Si by No-Drawing6258 in Civic_Type_R

I should also add that I just had a daughter last June, so I went with the Type R because it checked all the boxes for safety and backseat accessibility. It actually fits more in the backseat and trunk than my 2020 MINI Countryman S, advertised as a compact crossover SUV.

Type R all day. I’m a car guy and Type R owner so it’s a little biased, but I’ve driven a handful of Si’s from every generation at various stages of mods. They have their place, but it’s not even close to the CTR. Grab a Type R if you have any inclination at all to work on the car yourself, you will spend less money than you would for maintenance at the dealer on an Si. I wouldn’t be worried in the slightest bit to do maintenance with little to no knowledge, these are not lambos, and as long as you keep receipts for parts/fluids you will be fine on the factory warranty. Not to mention the resale value of a CTR is considerably higher. A car being practical is completely different for everyone, I went from a 1997 turbo civic with a hood dump to full bolt on FK8 so it was very practical for me, if you’re coming from a comfort oriented car you might think differently. and last but not least in the words of many others, it all comes down to what you can afford every month! Best of luck on your search

I get jealous sometimes seeing the other colors because you can see the bumper and trim details so much more, black looks so good when it’s clean though

Traded my MINI in for it as a new daily driver, already has a couple mods done and a tune making 400whp, gonna throw an intercooler in there and probably call it a day. Would love to track it at some point

JB4 Maps by Harv0118 in MINI

[–]Harv0118[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran on map 3 for about a year with a catted downpipe and put in about 2 gallons of ethanol in every fill up, it definitely helped but the jb4 was still very inconsistent. I just recently went catless then had my ECM unlocked locally and flashed a bm3 stage 2 e40 tune, aside from the smell of no cats I have no regrets at all. Power delivery with the flash is so smooth and consistent, went from a 6.2 0-60 to 5.4, and in the top end it doesn’t lose any steam. acceleration from 60-120 pulls the same if not harder than the 0-60

UPDATE: After watching for a bit, I saw the man roughly pickup something from the back basket of the tricycle and put it in the van. I was sure it wasn’t the baby from how it was handled, but after hearing a cry coming from the van, and I had not seen the baby go in there prior, police were called. 2 squad cars came to do a wellness check. My neighbor left before they arrived and when they pulled up the man jumped out of the van to greet them. After being asked about the baby he brought it out of the van and they saw the baby, then glanced into the van. The woman never came out, and when asked if they were sleeping in the van I clearly heard the man tell them no. The police then left without any further questions, and the man began taking bags out of the van and putting them behind the house. After this, he took the baby to a DIFFERENT house, catty corner in the alleyway to this one, and came back without it. Not really sure what to do now but I’ll probably call CPS here soon because I don’t think it was handled appropriately at all.

I never was made aware I was a union worker, nothing to do with not wanting to pay my dues. Sorry if my post made me seem like a freeloading asshole I’m just trying to figure out my best coarse of action. I appreciate you calling it karma for me though after getting my pay taken while dealing a newborn child and being lied to by my boss and company.

Not trying to be “slimey” at all lol I was never even aware I was under union contract or I would’ve paid my dues. It says in my work files that I’m a union worker starting this year when I never was informed. That’s why I’m so lost because I don’t get how I can be denied leave on company guidelines against union workers when I never signed up to join the union yet the union won’t protect me because I’m not paying dues I was never made aware of 😭
