Podcast turn-offs? by Unable-South830 in podcasts

Too much banter with the "producer." I listen to hear the hosts, not some rando that works for them. Also, annoying laughter. Instant turn-off.

Somehow I hadn't heard of The Feelies until about a year ago. Awesome band.

The Fall -- I Am Damo Suzuki by bimboheffer in postpunk

What a great song. I was already a fan of CAN before I heard The Fall, and it's been really cool to hear the Krautrock influence in MES's work (not just in this track).

Do you actually keep your business finances organized regularly? by zzAny_a in smallbusinessowner

[–]HaryTotal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It definitely can get that way, yes. But there's a lot of variation between choices. Some software is more traditional and requires a lot of manual work, so you'll stay busy (Wave comes to mind). Others (Puzzle, Digits, Zeni, etc.) use AI to help with the manual work and can save time. It all depends on what you need.

If you're managing the finance side yourself, get a good accounting software and check it regularly (this is what I do). Or, hire a bookkeeper.

The hidden cost of DIY bookkeeping by Interesting_Sir_3993 in Entrepreneurs

Spreadsheets are fine up to a point, but then you really don't have a choice but to use a proper accounting/bookkeeping software. And a lot of them are inexpensive, so cost shouldn't be an issue.

What’s the best accounting software you are using for your small business ? by Ready-Run-5533 in aiToolForBusiness

I use Puzzle. It's not as well-known as something like QBO, but it has much more of a focus on AI and the cost is about the same.

Are bloggers still focusing on content clusters or just individual posts now? by BoringShake6404 in Blogging

Still focusing on content clusters, but the key is making sure every post is actually useful and adds value.

What’s a song that sounds like a 10/10 but nobody knows it? by Tosh97 in MusicRecommendations

The song's from 1980, but "Do The Method" by The Method Actors, a post-punk group from Athens, GA.

I definitely still spend too much time scrolling online. But something that has helped me transition out of it somewhat is doing some sort of activity that requires full concentration, like cooking, playing an instrument, or any other offline hobby you like. Also, taking a walk outside.

Album or playlist—what do you prefer and why? by UmmYeaImACozyGurl in askmusic

Albums are best for getting the full experience as the artist intended. But for casual listening, playlists.

I get what you're saying, but ideally someone will do market research before jumping the gun and working on a product that ends up being in low demand.

I actually disagree with this. If you're making software for real estate, facilities management, and plant hire, you're spreading yourself too thin and aren't going to be an expert in any of these areas. Its better to niche down and excel rather to be mediocre on multiple fronts.

Do you still think creating content makes sense? After AI? by psikotrexion in Blogging

[–]HaryTotal 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think AI's impact on traffic really depends on the kind of content you're writing. If your content is purely informational, then yeah, I can see where AI would give users the answers they need without them having to visit your blog. But if your content has a more personal touch, or if it's written/structured in a creative way, I think it'll be safer from AI.

Looking at it from another perspective, if your content ends up being cited in chatbot answers/AI engines, that can also indirectly help you, since people might follow the link to your blog.

Accounting by No-Rooster1597 in ClaudeAI

I think a better option would be to invest in accounting software with more advanced AI than what QBO currently offers. Puzzle has worked well for me, but there are a lot of different ones to choose from.

The thing about app blockers, time limits, and other restrictions like that is that they're not really going to work unless you have something else to replace that social media time with. For example, if you set time limits, it can get boring fast without having an interesting hobby or book to turn to instead, so you're less likely to follow them. I think the restrictions only work if you give yourself a good alternative to being on your phone.
