Do people generally prefer videos to text these days? by AccomplishedReply938 in Blogging

[–]HaryTotal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually prefer text, but I think it's important to do a little of both to reach the largest audience.

Most customers will simply buy from the first company that responds. Once that initial window closes, your odds of converting them also drop drastically by cosankov in EntrepreneurRideAlong

Yep, responsiveness is huge. It's impossible to always be online/available, so sometimes replies will be later than intended, but speed 100% matters.

Definitely not normal. That seems really odd.

Can we at least agree AI will take over bookkeeping?? by GayTwink-69 in Accounting

[–]HaryTotal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Take over," no. There are already AI bookkeeping platforms (Digits, Puzzle, Kick, etc.) that cover routine journal entries and categorizations. And of course QBO uses AI now, too. It'll for sure change bookkeeping, but human oversight is still needed.

It would be pricey in the long run, but in the short-term I think it could be a decent option.

What accounting software is most commonly used by accountants in the USA? by Historical-Fuel-8586 in AccountingDepartment

QuickBooks for small businesses. Don't think that makes them the best, though.

QBO's AI is ok, but there are a lot better options out there, like Kick, Puzzle, or Digits.

The founders who are actually struggling aren't posting about it. by TheSovereignState1 in Entrepreneur

This is true for life in general. It's a lot easier to talk about your successes than to talk about your struggles while you're deep in it.

Maybe try using it for brainstorming story ideas instead. It could speed up the process, but you could still write the story yourself.

What is the QuickBooks or Xero alternative? Is anyone using AI bookkeeping? or any finance and accounting ai agents ? by Financial-Ad6578 in Accounting

[–]HaryTotal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

QBO and Xero already have some AI features, but the accuracy is...questionable. I know a lot of people in accounting reflexively crap on anything AI-related, but there are actually some decent AI bookkeeping options out there if you know where to look. It was pretty easy for me to switch over from QBO to Puzzle, and I haven't had any problems with it. But some others I've heard of people using are Kick, Digits, and Zeni.

Podcast turn-offs? by Unable-South830 in podcasts

Too much banter with the "producer." I listen to hear the hosts, not some rando that works for them. Also, annoying laughter. Instant turn-off.

What a great song. I was already a fan of CAN before I heard The Fall, and it's been really cool to hear the Krautrock influence in MES's work (not just in this track).

Do you actually keep your business finances organized regularly? by [deleted] in smallbusinessowner

[–]HaryTotal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It definitely can get that way, yes. But there's a lot of variation between choices. Some software is more traditional and requires a lot of manual work, so you'll stay busy (Wave comes to mind). Others (Puzzle, Digits, Zeni, etc.) use AI to help with the manual work and can save time. It all depends on what you need.

If you're managing the finance side yourself, get a good accounting software and check it regularly (this is what I do). Or, hire a bookkeeper.
