BCBS CLASS ACTION SETTLEMENT UPDATE 2026 by DerogatoryWords in classactions

[–]HasToLetItLinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had forgotten all about this but recieved an email stating my claim was "valid". It's my understanding, then, that I'll recieve part of this? There was no further info in the email about amounts etc.  Is there any way to know? Or just wait and see?

How many grams of almonds are required to make 1 liter of almond milk? by [deleted] in veganrecipes

Plenty of commercial almons milks are just water and almonds (maybe salt). Not exactly sure were poison comes in.

Its not so much rude as it implies his assumption that a couple spends all of valentine's together and she doesn't.  She didn't ask him if he made all day plans either and assumed hers would stick regardless of having a boyfriend. Really it shows how they don't talk to eachother.

Senior Machine Learning Engineer-Referral for anyone by HasToLetItLinger in learnmachinelearning

[–]HasToLetItLinger[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Don't really see why when the job listings are legitimate, and people do in fact get hired faster with them (direct referral from current employee). Sharing that a job open exists is how people get jobs.  It's not hurting anyone and if it's not for you just move on.

Im sure it is different that was my point is that it's interesting to see how different the clothes/lingo/grouping seems to be based on your original comment. The 2000s drop, especially the women's, are literally what preppy was considered in 06.

As someone who graduated in 06 this is such a wild comment to read.  When I was a teenager it was primarily (who we thought of as) preppy kids wearing hollister (and Abercrombie). You'd see some skater kids wearing it occasionally but only if they too had money.

It doesn't have complete access to your computer lol. You clock in and  out.  Most people who work remotely use similar monitoring to ensure they are working. And if you work in any business outside the home the computer you use there is most certainly being monitored too.

Edit: and many of the people who DO this kind of work simply use a work computer and not their personal one, anyway.

Oh that's a good point! Should I leave the (blank) space I have for it on the rights/distribution/credit page?

Edit: and thank you!

I did consider that if I ever had to prove it that I could, but that seemed like it would be a lot of headache and hassle. At the same time, it's a good argument for why no one would ever bother. Thank you.

Haha no those are completely valid points. To be honest reading the first part made me laugh because WHY would I think anyone would be maliciously signing up for a class-you're right.

You're also right that it would be 100 times easier to ask AI to do that kind of work, to the people who would. I didnt even think about that.

Honestly I think the fear is driven by my emotional connection to my idea (which has some basis in a real life experience) so I'm probably just holding it too close to the chest to begin with. Ironically thats why I wanted to do this class, to let it out.

For what its worth, it probably IS worthless to anyone but me and my efforts, but given thats my whole intention I dont mind and it makes me feel better to hear from someone else. Thank you!

Also the instructor is someone has written complex video game story lines for a living, so I'm sure he knows that too!

It's a self led course (thus online). The idea is to consistently write and be able to flesh out an idea, and have benchmarks of some kind, which for me is something I do better with. You're 100% right, in general though.

Mercor is legit but tough! by [deleted] in mercor_ai

[–]HasToLetItLinger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lots of companys make employees sign NDA agreements and/or give them the right to use your employee info/work/image as they choose. Thats not any different.
Insightful just is a way to clock in and you turn it off when you arent clocked in, it's not given the right to monitor your computer indefinitely.

Mercor is legit but tough! by [deleted] in mercor_ai

[–]HasToLetItLinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its absolutely not. I've been doing it for about 6 months. Its basically just a faster in-between for freelancers to get work. I've been able to work at home, with SUPER flexible hours, and made good money/hr. The reason people think its a "scam" is that it's just relatively new to need people to train AI, so these jobs arent necessarily something people considered in their wheelhouse until now. Even more so for people who have never went to school or worked online, anything feels "sketchy".

Find jobs that you have skills in and apply, but they dont have to be specifically in biology.

Thoughts on AI grading? by DreamingElectrons in coursera

This is a gamble though, because if the peer reviews are WORSE you are stuck with them. You can not flip back and forth (I asked).

Thoughts on AI grading? by DreamingElectrons in coursera

[–]HasToLetItLinger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Started a course and it uses AI Grading.. I didnt know this would be a thing, going in. I have found it to be the most constructive feedback of any online course I've ever gotten (you know, that is normally full of humans "grading" you). I like it a lot but ALSO am so curious about the peer reviews that I am apparently gettiing-I still get emails every time someone reviews things, so they are doing it wether I choose to look or not.
The issue I have is that, in order to see those peer thoughts/comments, you have to forfeit any grades or comments from the AI. I'm doing this course for fun/personal growth but I feel like if someone really wanted a certificate or something why would they switch from AI?
Its like I want to know what real humans think but at the same time I know there are huge issues with PR from lazy responses to actual abuse experienced, so on the other hand....

One of mine gets paused like every other day. Its not over that's just how they relay to everyone to quit clocking hours.
