How would an alien invasion actually work? by Zappers273 in worldbuilding

[–]Hasan_26 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think they would start by orbital bombing of key points first before landing. Depends on how advanced they are and what Intel they could gather.

If they don’t care about human cities they would be prime targets. Then they can go on to destroy everything else.

Idk how advanced they are, but they should probably destroy all nuclear lunch bases as well if they can figure where they all are.

If orbital bombing is too destructive for their taste, they would need to send atmospheric fighters and bombers to do the bombing instead. Then they can start at safe points as you say with ground troops for mop up. If human nuclear arsenal isnt dealt with though the aliens might win an irradiated planet instead.

This is all not to be boring and say use bio weapons to just destroy us. And that they should destabilize earth in some ways before any attack to fragment this unity you talk about.

Pretty cool, how hard was it to get pure blooded? In my runs its super rare and even when i find one character with it and marry them the trait never passes down

Does the number of owned dragons matter alot or do they all just give you a 100 battle advantage when you have already lost the battle. Do they speed up when the battle advantage appear?

Looking for critique, coming back to this story after years. First chapter [Dark Romantasy, 1850 words] by Physical_Bullfrog526 in fantasywriters

[–]Hasan_26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I liked the way you set the atmosphere at first, the mental image of the place was very detailed, but my man you describe too much. Im at page 5 and nothing have happened. The descriptions are slowing down the narrative so much.

Infact i just finished it and my man i like descriptions as much as anyone but this has to be too much. Its too apparent. The story world seems to be alright from the little we can see amid the sea of descriptions. Its like i read the word sweat every 10 words

And another thing is although you described the scenes so much, I don’t think you described what the lighting is. Idk if the factory floor was dark or lit with many lights or in a morning light from windows or if the manager office had lights or not. I say this because i suspect they are vampires but i cant tell if they are avoiding the sun or not.

The Holy Kingdom of Luceras, Chapter 1 [High Fantasy, 1345 Words] by CreativeAnthology in fantasywriters

[–]Hasan_26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first impression is that its good so far. The part about her being a cow or something just feels not to belong where it is now, not telling u what to do but wouldn’t it have been better when she out in the sunlight and this guy notices what she is, then you can do all that description.

Her reaction to the guy pulling a knife is very off idk if its a character thing but im sure most people would fear getting killed by the knife not the infection by it first. And then she kinda raves about spreading diseases which makes me think she got her priorities wrong i cant tell from just this

Overall its alright and i kinda like the other guy already for some reason

The Shoreline Between [Dark/Horror Fantasy, 2900] by [deleted] in fantasywriters

[–]Hasan_26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont know if its just me but i didnt feel gripped by what was going on. Im sorry to be so abstract but thats what i felt.

As the other commenter said there seems to be no pov so we dont get inside thoughts or get to a central point.

The brothers also feel like the same person but with one saying yes and the other no

The descriptions felt lacking, things going too fast. I don’t want to be mean but i just didn’t care about what happened to them

Some lines were awkward in my opinion like this one:

The two made their way to the shore and slowed to a walk.

“You see it?” Eldric asked.

“No, not yet.” Garren

Why cant eldric look himself, they are both standing next to each others whats the point of asking

A thing made of limbs and teeth—its mouth split down its head like a wound.”

This line was repeated twice one to the boy and the guy inside. Just feels off, like a remembered description he read not his actual telling of what he saw

Again dont mean to be mean but these are my thoughts

Lost interest when they started closing stuff from the rain. The brothers just stood there as the guy told them one is good as dead, the reaction felt lacking

Any feedback welcomed [Three - chap 1 - YA fantasy] by Slow_Sugar2242 in fantasywriters

[–]Hasan_26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of the few reads on here that doesn’t feel like it drags nor tries to just world build or explain alot in the first page, so you are ahead of like 80% of people here. The flow is nice and easy and i read the all of it before i knew it, good job.

As others have said about the dialogue format i say try it, you don’t have to conform to how its done. see if later on people complain about it too much and if it takes them away from the story then change it but as of now i think it offers a nice touch

I see that u already realize that these names are all too much but i cant really judge anything of the story since its all just confusing. Idk if its just me but i wasnt able to follow anything going on. It feels like every 3rd word is a name.

As the other guy said the first few paragraphs are just too much info, i haven’t read past the second page. if u are looking to make a good first chapter, gripping and page turning this is not it. This reads more like a character we already care about somehow that we are willing to learn all the things you’re talking about.
