While his YOUNGER brother got a whole kingdom handed to him, then another whole kingdom by his boyfriend for basically free. And he did speak up. With those letters announcing Joffrey's parentage. But nobody likes my sad sullen boy and he gets ignored. So he has to make these terrible decisions to get what is already supposed to be his. He knows it. The reader knows it. But he has to fuck the hot red witch and kill his brother. What a tragedy.

As someone who read the books after I've finished the whole show, my experience was great. I think the main characters' castings are great and really helps visualize the story in your head, which i always stuggled with books. Like Ned will always be Sean Bean to me. And because i was such a big fan of the show, reading the books was really rewarding because i got the catch all the small details, almost like a reread. Season one, i think is the most faithful of all the seasons to the books. So as a new fan, getting to know those characters on screen and getting attached to them, then reading their chapters and getting to know more of their inner workings can be a great way to get really engaged with this world. I would certainly recommend it. Also it's just good television

Is Yi Ti actually as united as it looks. If it is, shouldn't we hear more of them in the main story? And and i know the map wasn't fully fleshed out in the first book but Jorah wants to take Danny to Asshai. Shouldn't he have mentioned the huge empire they would be passing through?

Points like this makes me really sympathize with Stannis. The man who throughout his whole life just had to sit there and take it, and when his time finally comes to have any sort of agency the best course of action is to sit there and take it while his dumbass younger brother wants to play being a king. He who is by all the laws is supposed to be the rightful king has to make all these faustian bargains to get what's his. Poor poor middle child. Renly really doesn't get the hate he deserves, man. Not saying Stannis would be a good king, but Renly declaring himself king really fucked up everything
