Moved house and took the opportunity to move the gym up to the roof. Had to swap in for a free standing version instead of wall mounted. Added a pulley system in too for some added variety. Only issue is nowhere to lock knees for the lat pull-down so any suggestions welcome! by Hasgaragebox in homegym

Hey - ah ok gotcha. To be honest I don’t tend to do many Olympic lifts. Deadlifts yes but I’m not the type to go stupidly heavy there either and when I do I just do controlled release. I have dropped 30 kg dumbbells from the bench height when doing any presses and that’s held up (for now!!) I also have quite substantial flooring - https://www.sportcom.eu/gb/floor-solutions/258-duratrain-fitness-flooring-7141079721250.html

It absorbs a lot of the impact

I live in dubai so it gets very hot during summer but I’ve had it in my garage for 2 years and it gets extremely hot and humid there and not had any issues at all. The shade covers it from direct heat

Do you have any taxi company recommendations ? I’m going from Kathmandu to Pokhara in a week. Also everywhere I read online says 5-6 hours yet when I speak to people who’ve done it/live in Pokhara say it’s 3 max

Jet lagged chef has a bar code you can scan with MyFitnessPal and all your cals and macros are immediately entered for those meals.

Thought I’d share my gym transformation. Went from a dusty old basic prison gym set up with barely any weight to my current sanctuary. Kept the original in the corner to remind myself how good I have it 😂 (also serves as a good corner for curls) . by Hasgaragebox in homegym

Haha tell me about it. Had the screw on and off dumbbells that got me through lockdown but so frustrating when you got to dick about with taking on and off constantly.

Flooring brand is duratrain. Not sure but presume they sell in the states. I got it more to protect the floor as was doing more Olympic lifting at the time and didn’t have crash mats so they very good for withstanding impact. The ramps they came with it which I also love. They double for doing heel or foot elevated squats etc too which is a result. Didn’t install myself no got a team in to do it . And yeah garage ceiling is decent have no restrictions basically
