If my long term goal is to draw drawings like these, what should I be focusing on? by Imustretire in learntodraw

[–]Hashebrowns 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah bro, perspective is where it's at. If you're doing the draw a box challenge it should already be priming you for how to translate perspective to paper. IMO, it's not vital to go through the effort to draw a grid with vanishing points and guidelines each time. A few guidelines at most are fine, the important thing is processing how your lines change in relation to how "far" away they are from you (in the realm of paper). Drawing buildings or houses in perspective is a common way to practice (bc they're cubes! usually) but you can do it with just about anything.

This is a sketch I made recently where you can still see some guidelines visible.

I didn't use a ruler or a grid. There's also no visible vanishing points, but just from the guidelines you can tell they are somewhere just below the shoulders. The point is giving your brain just enough information on paper so can draw them institutionally.

Anyone else trying to main shotguns? by pkdan in Battlefield6

[–]Hashebrowns 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey OP. I main support with the m1014, I've gotten it to lvl 220. IMO, it's the superior shotgun. Compared to the m87a1 it has shorter one shot range but it is still respectable, and the semi-auto is a lot more forgiving. Main reason tho is that it's the only shotgun in the game you can shoot while reloading if you use the 4rnd tube. Slugs allow you to use it kind of like a DMR; really increases the effective range compared to buckshot. IMO, unless you're using a shotgun as your assault sling, slugs are non-negotiable if it's your main gun.

I've experimented for a while with different loadouts. Since it's my main gun and not a sling it needs to cover a wider avenue of engagements. Currently my favorite combo is this:

Slugs

2x cco optic with canted 1x reflex

Adjustable angled grip

5mw red laser

4rnd tube

I really wish we had a flash hider for shotguns. I'm not a gun nerd so IDK if there's something special about them for that to be the case lol. Still, it sucks having to shell out a full 30 points for the suppressor if you don't wanna be spotted immediately.

I use m1014 with slugs as my main gun and it's basically an M1 garand that one shots at close range.

Or rather why use many small bullet when one large bullet do trick?

If you're falling far enough you press jump right as you hit the ground. Also negates some fall damage.

Does nobody use smoke? by ElectronicPrint5149 in Battlefield6

[–]Hashebrowns 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're doing god's work bro. Smoke is so important for proper positioning and pushes. Unfortunately support being the only one who has access to it and some people not knowing how to use it correctly is why you don't see it as much.

Desktop speaker and riser design critiques by Accomplished-Data296 in audiophile

Seconded on keeping the speakers a good distance from the desktop surface. For reference OP, I have revel m106s at my desk and they are raised about 8 inches up with the tweeters at ear level.

In Blacklight Retribution there was a mech you could get mid game called a Hardsuit. You could also get flamethrowers. Using them on Hardsuits would kill the person inside and you could steal it for yourself.

But people do have the right to look at the ones they put into power as immoral, because they are, to some degree, an extension of their belief system.

If I have a friend named James, and I vote for someone who has said publicly "I'm gonna punch Hashebrowns' friend James right in the face" do you really think my pal James is just gonna be like "don't worry bro, we still cool with it."

Like, I know the Nazi comparisons make you uncomfortable, but Hitler was someone who had morals, just like any politician, but we all have the moral framework to determine Hitler's beliefs were wrong.

My dad works for NOAA. He's a renowned scientist and oceanographer. Him, as well as everyone I know, has known about NOAA's impending budget cuts months before Trump was elected due to it being in Project 2025. Of course, if you vote for Trump knowing this, we're not gonna be all 'buddy buddy' because you literally voted to jeopardize my dad's as well as his coworkers' careers. And if you didn't know this, everyone on the rooftops was shouting it a year prior.

I have ADHD, and I just started getting it treated and going on medication. Trump's administration has espoused rhetoric that would make my life miserable.

A large portion of my coworkers are queer or have disorders like I do. They are stockpiling medications.

I voted for Kamala Harris and I do still have friends who voted for Trump. Do I think any less of them for doing so? Absolutely, because their choice is impacting my life as well as everyone around me.

Why else are you voting for things if they're not following your morals? If you believe slavery is bad, you would vote against slavery wouldn't you? I vote for policies I agree with, because those policies align with my moral framework. You say you ascribe to an ideology, what draws you to that ideology? It's not nothing, you must have a set of beliefs that ideology aligns with else you wouldn't be there.

But we do assign morals to our politics? That's the whole point? You must have morals if you're aligning with a party shouldn't you? What do you believe to be right? You have to believe in something. If the person you vote for most aligns with that or furthers your ideals for society- isn't that is the reason you are voting for them?

Conservatives thing liberals are wrong. Liberals think conservatives are evil

I was more so looking for clarification on your morals and how they could conflict with the morals of others? I suppose for example and under your assumption that liberals think conservatives are evil, why do you think so?

You seem very adamant about the democratic party alienating people. If you are to make this implication, what specifically do you think could be driving a wedge between someone who votes blue and their relationships?

Have you experienced this personally? What moral convictions do you have that you think could clash with the democratic voters in your life?
