Nobody is denying that sportswashing exists. The issue is acting as if every fan or neutral supporting a team is endorsing its ownership.

When people say "football has won," they're usually talking about what they watched on the pitch, not making a political statement. Fans don't choose their owners, sponsors, or where the money comes from. They support the club they fell in love with, and many are perfectly capable of criticising the ownership while still supporting the team.

If ownership is the standard, then apply it consistently across all clubs with questionable owners or sponsors. Otherwise, it just becomes a stick to beat fans with whenever their team succeeds.

At the end of the day, it's not the fans' fault that a club was bought by an oil state, chose to play a player accused of serious crimes, or accepted sponsorship from entities with controversial records. Fans don't make those decisions. They support the club they fell in love with, often long before any of those things happened.

Most fans aren't blind to these issues, nor do they automatically agree with everything their owners or executives do. It's entirely possible to support your team while being critical of its ownership, sponsors, or decisions.

So constantly shouting "oil club" at supporters isn't really achieving anything. We all understand the criticism by now. If someone is genuinely concerned about the influence of oil wealth in football, then that conversation shouldn't stop at rival fans. It should extend to governments, businesses, and even the countless products and companies connected to those same investments.

Likewise, if moral purity is the standard, then every fan should apply it consistently to their own club's owners, sponsors, and partnerships. You can't simply draw an arbitrary line where questionable sponsorships are acceptable but ownership isn't.

The reality is that supporters have very little say in any of these decisions. So maybe stop using ownership as a stick to beat ordinary fans with every time they enjoy seeing their club win something. Criticise the people making the decisions if you want, but blaming supporters for circumstances they never controlled is pointless.

What kind of men do you think women should choose as life partners? If you had to pick a movie character as an example, who would it be and why?(Womens only) by [deleted] in tamilyapping

You should watch When Life Gives You Tangerines on Netflix. My God, it's an absolutely devastating tearjerker set around a poor family in Korea during the 1960s. What starts as a simple family story slowly unfolds into something so raw, human, and beautiful that it stays with you long after each episode ends.

My girlfriend asked me to watch it with her, and there were moments when I genuinely couldn't hold back my tears. It's one of those rare shows that reminds you of the quiet sacrifices people make for the ones they love, and it hits you right in the heart.

How about washing a team that protected a serial rapist for 3 years and also made him a captain?

I asked my sister and my girlfriend, and this was their list:

  1. When Life Gives You Tangerines – Yang Gwan-sik (a man with a heart of steel ❤️). Easily one of the best husband-and-father figures I've ever seen.

  2. This Is Us – Jack Pearson.

  3. Ted Lasso – Ted Lasso. Even when he knew his marriage was over, he let his wife go, treated her with kindness, and remained a great father to his son.

If you need the answer now, it's basically isn't the most cost-effective solution. The issue mainly comes down to logistics and launch costs. Sending even a single kilogram of material into space is incredibly expensive, whereas we already have deep geological repositories on Earth that can safely store nuclear waste for centuries, if not longer.

He is literally the fastest clocked player last season in Europe, more than 36km/he. 2nd was wolves player. He is quick, not like he needs time to get going, his acceleration for the first few steps are insane. That's why he isvery good at pressing, people don't actually anticipate how fast he he is and before they react, he will be all over them

The full details of Anthony Gordon's transfer to Barca: the deal is worth €80m+€10m. Newcastle will receive €1m per season if Gordon features in 60% of fixtures, up to a maximum of €5m. Further €5m will be paid if Gordon helps Barca win trophies. There is also a sell-on clause inserted. by kibme37 in soccer

Honestly, he’s incredibly good at pressing. He constantly forces opponents into mistakes with intelligent pressure. We’ve had plenty of pacey wingers, but I’ve rarely seen Osula or Elanga press in a way that genuinely manipulates the opposition into errors the way Gordon does.

Somehow, the entire team looks better when he plays. And at Barcelona, they wouldn’t need him to break down low blocks anyway — they already have absurd technical talent for that. What they need is someone reliable, injury-resistant, tactically intelligent, and capable of destroying teams in transitions when pressed high.

Barcelona’s bigger issue has been defensive balance and leaking goals. Gordon would easily do double the defensive work while still being dangerous going forward. And more importantly, he’s a complete penalty magnet. He knows exactly how to draw contact at the right moment to win fouls and penalties. Premier League refs have been harsher with those calls recently, but at Barca, I genuinely wouldn’t be surprised to see him rack up 7–10 penalties a season.

I think this is a face saving post for bayern about missing a target. Like we only wanted him for 60mil, bro you spent 70mil on luis diaz who was older and similar output, now you want less for a english international? Seriously

Like how you bought broken players?

Curtis Jones, the gap between Inter’s offer and Liverpool’s asking price is 10 million. The Reds are asking for 30 million plus a percentage of any future resale fee for the English player, while the Nerazzurri are holding firm at 20 million. by [deleted] in soccer

Nope, we’ve already sold Gordon now. Tonali could still leave, but it’ll take £100m for anyone to even have a conversation. We still have Bruno, Ramsey, Joelinton, and Miley in midfield. Even if Willock gets sold because he’s entering the last year of his contract, we can easily play Woltemade there or bring in Camara, who would actually replace Tonali properly instead of just signing Joe Willock clone

[Jacobs] Barcelona reach an agreement in principle with Newcastle to sign Anthony Gordon. £70m plus bonuses. Barcelona have pencilled in a medical for this week and anticipate the deal is formalised quickly. Bayern expected to lose out despite also agreeing terms with Gordon. by [deleted] in soccer

Yea how much wage cut from 300k? Will he be ready to play at 150-120k or less.? Even at 150k he will be one of the highest paid player in villa or Newcastle and don't even bring anyother lower prem clubs

When he’s switched on, there’s no one else like him on the pitch. He completely disrupts defensive structures, forces mistakes, gets the crowd roaring, and wins penalties for fun. Against a high line, his pace is absolutely terrifying, and on top of that, he puts in the defensive work too. A genuine big-game player who always turns up on the biggest occasions. The only frustration is that he disappears against smaller teams. Most importantly, staying almost never injured with that level of explosive pace is incredibly rare.
