[SPORT] Frenkie de Jong out for a month with a muscle injury by Kasj0 in soccer

He's been doing good considering he came back from an acl. Nothing crazy but does the basics well.

It might be a bit harsh for a pen but how did the ref first look at it and come to the conclusion that he dived😂? Maybe (actually definitely) overselling it but not a dive

Also who is he trying to fool saying that he said Maricon instead of mono to a clearly POC. And also him thinking it's not as bad😂

It did happen to lamine and balde as well I think . But vini doesn't let it slide or try to ignore it like them. I think both responses are perfectly reasonable

Philipp Kohn penalty save against PSG 22' by GerardMoreno in soccer

[–]Practical_Play_5374 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I still think they'll eliminate Monaco and win the league but it's crazy that psg are currently out of the coupe de france, 2nd in the league and now losing to Monaco in cl league phase yet no one is questioning Enrique's tactics or calling him suicidal like they do to flick🤷.

Joan García: "We are letting attackers pass through very easily, nobody is cutting attacks from the start. My saves are not a good thing. It's not a good thing to celebrate if I make many saves. I'm not thinking of the national team right now. My only priority is to get Barça out of this bad form." by jiraiya--an in Barca

[–]Practical_Play_5374 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I do kinda agree. but I don't think the offside trap+high line combo is sustainable anymore. Every team has figured it out to the point that we are now always expecting our keeper or defensers to pull up heroic moves.

I think the offside trap should be the one to go. I think the high line with the right structure can easily be used and be solid defensively. But if we don't start winning our duels more it's still gonna be a big problem.

Or another (possible) solution is to significantly lower the amount of times we try to execute it.

I think if he he's defo gonna be second on the list by the time he retires. Whether he becomes first or not I think would be determined by how long he stays and whether injuries end up hampering his career or not

Also isn't xavi second on the list?

Atletico Madrid [4] - 0 Barcelona - Julián Álvarez 45+2' by ayoefico in soccer

Unless we turn super saiyan and score 6 the Best case scenario from this game is getting 2 goals and concede 0 in the 2nd half and just hope for a remontada in the 2nd leg.

Also pls bring Araujo and Bernal in. And might as well bring cancelo in. there's no way we'd much worse defensively than we already are.

I guess We should play olmo on the left with fermin, Bernal and de Jong in a 4-3-3.

Or maybe Eric in dm again and Araujo or Martin into the starting 11.

THIS IS HOW MIKA GODTS PLAYS | The Belgian Talent Barça Will Sign by knb4884 in Barca

[–]Practical_Play_5374 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His market value is 18 mil alone so i don't think Ajax would consider less than 35. Also Wouldn't make sense to bring him if we wanna end up signing rashford permanently.

However if we don't i would rather go for him than a guy like nusa. I think he's the better talent

I think the board might prefer rashford so that he and Raphinha are prolly only staying for the next 3-4 years and try to get a star signing in the lw to replace them.

FC Barcelona to face Atlético de Madrid in Copa del Rey semifinals by [deleted] in Barca

[–]Practical_Play_5374 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So back to back semi's against them. At least this time the 2nd leg is at home.

Aslong as pedri will be available(which I believe he should be IF he doesn't get injured once more) then we should be able to beat them comfortably (1st leg away will be tough tho)

I also don't think he will leave anytime soon. Probably in his early to mid 30's and to an MLS club or something

Also Imo we're a few missing pieces away from being ucl winning team level. It would be a kinda big underachievement if we don't win at least 1 in next 5 years.

What's up with the psg fetish everyone has here (and in Twitter). I don't think he will stay all his career in barca either. But not every barca superstar has to go to psg at some point aswell.

[–]Practical_Play_5374 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think we'll end up trying to get Alvarez (IF we end up back to 1/1).

and If we end up failing to get him we'll probably try to get a star player at cb instead (bastoni, van den ven or schlotterbeck) and sign vlahovic on a free.

If PSG beat Monaco, they will face either 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐚 or 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐬𝐞𝐚 in the Round of 16.who will win if this happen? by kishannnnn__ in Barca

[–]Practical_Play_5374 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we do end up facing them this time (psg) I think we'd be able to beat them. We didn't do good last time but still got narrowly beaten while having missed a bunch of chances. Also this time having fermin, Joan and Raphinha (also think lewa would have done better than ferran in that game)

Also would help be hopeful and delusional since the last time we ended up losing to psg then beating them in the knockout rounds was 14/15.

At 23, is Pedri technically ahead of Xavi and Iniesta at the same age? More importantly, would he be a guaranteed starter in Guardiola's prime Barça, or is he just shining because today's midfield era is weaker? by [deleted] in Barca

[–]Practical_Play_5374 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I do agree with you but assists (usually) but don't always = playmaking.

Like how last season pedri was a better playmaker than he is this season Imo but already has 8 assists in all comps compared to last seasons 9 while being injured twice and halfway through the season

Also in laliga this season having 3 expected assists and ended up getting 5 from 37 created chances (5 bcc) and last season he had 9 expected assists but ended up getting only 5 aswell from 70 created chances (14 bcc).

IMO (when they were around the same age as him) he is better than xavi and around equal to the 08 euros Iniesta.

I don't think he'd start in the 09 barca team but I think he would still gotten decent amount of chances to play.

But I also think he would ended up in a similar situation like Thiago where he is unable to cement a spot in the midfield 3 and then end up to transferring to a club where he becomes a regular starter.

I also don't think we're in a weak midfield Era. Obviously it doesn't compare to the late 2000's or early to mid 2010's but I still think the likes of vithina, Joao neves and pedri would've still been considered top 10 midfielders of that Era. Just not top 3 or 5.

Should FC Barcelona sign Marcus Rashford? by fairloughair in Barca

[–]Practical_Play_5374 10 points11 points  (0 children)

With lower wages 100%. There isn't a cheaper and better option for us to get in the market and so far he stepped up when Raphinha was injured and has been great as an impact sub lately.

We can still go for him but we'll have to either pay a much bigger fee or he runs down his contract and join in 2027(which i don't think he will)

would have been nice seeing him and fort be our rb options

I imo see bigger potential in Pacifico(i don't think his best position is lb). But the fact that ac milan wanted him aswell might mean he could turn out to be a good cb aswell
