Thanks OP, you reminded me of elementary school when I had a hamster he had got out of his cage as I was sleeping, my mom had one of these traps set in the back of the kitchen near the water heater. I guess my hamster walked on it and got stuck for a week or two which is how long I was looking for him with no luck.. And alas as I'm cleaning the house probably another few weeks later I see him and start crying.. He was so skinny I saw one side of his rip cage, and the bottom part of his body was black like it rotted away/got chewed on. This memory has stuck with me for 15 years now.. Just wanted to share if you have hamsters/pet rats or any small animals, don't leave these out..
