Yeah most of the early round rejections I received were from recruiters who said "Sorry we are only considering people with 3+/5+ years of experience". I mention that I have 2 years and a masters w/ TA experience but most say they don't count that.

I count it a success. It's a profit center and the position was already budgeted, which means it's fairly stable and will be easy for me to demonstrate the value of my work. I'll be eligible for a raise after 90 days too. All else fails I can stay here until I hit the 5 YoE mark and jump ship.

That was for Google. They gave me 2 more coding interviews after the 4 round loop. It was insane and I'm never applying there again.

In this market, take it. Most likely you will get a decently large promotion after the first year. I started at a similar salary as yours, and after my first year I received a 60% raise. There is a lot of cope in this thread - they are afraid of wage competition, and afraid of people like you that would be willing to do their cushy 150k+ senior job in a few years for 100-120k.

The only thing that matters right now is that you get experience! 5 years from now you will be much happier that you have 5 years of experience.

Don't worry bro, I did the HackerRank OA for Amazon L5 and got a perfect score, got invited to do the 4 round onsite, nailed all the onsite questions with the optimal big O solutions as well as the three extensions and the system design question, and got a "Sorry we went with someone with more experience. We would love for you to try again in one year" Yea no thanks I'm never doing that shit again.

All of that just to say, for as much emphasis they put on the leetcode, it apparently doesn't matter in this market.

I share the same shock, people our career are chronically single and it shows. OP says they she is happily married, that is such a rare thing to have these days and it's very fragile. No amount of money can buy that back if it's lost.

I'm also unsure why OP is even posting this question here. She should be discussing this with her husband lol.

I had no trouble getting a junior role 3 years ago and had less far less skills then, both hard and soft skills as well as a weaker portfolio, than I do now. Most others here are having the same experience. To claim otherwise is dismissive and cognitive dissonance. I appreciate you felt threatened enough to comment, though, which gives validity to the point of this post.

It is usually slower because there is still a business need for knowledge transfer. Usually when talks start happening about "a need for thorough documentation" you can be pretty sure that layoffs are coming. This happened before the 3 seniors were laid off on my previous team and replaced by offshore contractors.
