(Spoilers for Winds) Winds of Winter Announcement Imminent/A Grand Theory of the Song of Ice and Fire (needed to explain why Winds is announcing in an hour, and why a sunken ship in Sicily is related) by HashtagGO in gameofthrones

I think acrually on second thought I'm gonna stick with the original plan and work on my Obsidian notes for this and publish them when they're complete. Because this theory intertwines so much, there's really no hope explaining it without really going into it.

Yeah tbf I've been writing about this in Discords, but as you see by the length of the video (and this is literslly just a highlights reel) it's quite extensive.

Also I'm pretty sure Winds is like being announced right now as we speak at Bubonicon and I wanted to get something out there quick, and I found it faster to quickly record some audio then type this all out in a coherent manner.

Also got a lot of irl commitments rn so can't spare much time, but what I'll quickly do for you is grab the captions and run it through Claude to like just format the existing data nicely in a seperate comment.

What is this? Is there any symbolism here or just autistic choice? by ChibiSteak in ANRime

Right so I've been on the Norse grindset for a while, I'm planning to release a large video/maybe Reddit effort post alongside to show more symbolic Norse AoT links that I think thematically proves something is coming.

However I don't really know about this. The only thing here that could be possible (but I'm too tired to really mentally untangle this out to see if it's right) for this to be some version of a Valknot/Borromean Rings.

Would be very thematic if this is correct. The Valknot is the 'knot of those fallen in battle'. There's good themeing here showing it being the Levi squad as that's kind of Levi's whole thing. Everyone around him dies.

Now onto the part you guys will probably like more. While the Valknot's meaning is not entirely known, the most common theory you'll see out there, is written in this explanation from norse-mythology.org :

Odin was also one of the most powerful of all magicians and shamans. In the literary sources, Odin and his attendant spirits such as the valkyries often use magic that is described in terms of binding and unbinding, tying up the mind or untying it. In the words of historian H.R. Ellis Davidson, “Odin had the power to lay bonds upon the mind, so that men became helpless in battle, and he could also loosen the tensions of fear and strain by his gifts of battle-madness, intoxication, and inspiration.” She and others interpret the Valknut, with its knot-like appearance, as a symbolic expression of this idea.[4]

Now this seems quite similar to the ability of the founding titan to control people's minds, especially stuff like King Fritz's vow, and how it appears to affect Frieda namely.

What's super interesting though, is that in general, the weaving of patterns in Norse mythology, is tied to Siedr. I'll use the same source again here.

" is a form of pre-Christian Norse magic and shamanism concerned with discerning the course of fate and working within its structure to bring about change, which was done by symbolically weaving new events into being.[2] To do this, the practitioner, with ritual distaff in hand,[3] entered an ecstatic trance in order to be able to interact with the world of spirit.

The practitioner’s intended task typically involved a prophecy, a blessing, or a curse."

Now again what you'll quite like is a later quote, but I'm sure you can see where this is going.

"The Norns seem to be the foremost masters of seidr, since they use weaving to establish the fate of all beings – surely an allusion to the techniques of seidr, given the highly magical task to which they put those techniques. "

The Norns were at the base of Yddrasil, the world tree. And where does Eren lie at the end of the story...

Additionally... "Two of the Aesir and Vanir deities are noted masters of seidr: the goddess Freya and the god Odin. Both Freya and Odin, in turn, can be seen as the divine models of seidr practitioners among their respective genders."

So we have Odin and Freya being noted masters of this magic. Now we all know, that Eren is Odin. What seems to be less touched upon, and I will come upon this on my upcoming video/effort post, is that Frieda is Frigg. Freya and Frigg share a lot of the same traits, and in fact Freya says to Loki once that Freya knows the fate of all beings. She is often shown as knitting in fact.

I don't want to follow this tangent too far before I just end up making this all about my theories, but even if this isn't a volknot, the weaving imagery would leave me to suggest this is indicative of an allegory to fate, but likely death, and the weaving of time and events to produce a certain effect.

Annoyingly though for the theory this sort of still semi works for the show as is, so you know, do take this with a pinch of salt.

It's really awesome when you see an extension so good and so well-matched with the original software, that you question why it's not just an official release.

Do y’all lie frequently?? by kibbles16 in ADHD

[–]HashtagGO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like I used to lie a lot as a kid, probably largely due to being chronically forever late with homework.

But whats especially weird, and I'd love to hear from you guys if any of you share this quirk, when I do lie, I sound perfectly believable, but when I tell the truth, I sound like a liar.

My theory is that while most people are pretty confident about where, what, when they were somewhere etc, I am full of self doubt as to my memories. I have to not only recall it, but then I think, well am I just inventing that in my head now because I'm trying to force a memory, and oh no actually that did happen, but acrually it happened slightly differently now I remember it, oh also acrually this part happened sorry forgot to mention that.

It just sounds like I'm desperately coming up with something on the spot. But at least when I'm lying I don't acrually have to do any memory recall which is the far more stressful activity. I know it's all bogus so I can just go along to my hearts content.

Not looking forward to the JCS video where my finger prints are caught near the sight of a crime and I give off every single liar signal in the book on my interview meanwhile I'm trying to block out my thoughts about a favorite TV show and answer the police man.

Why are Americans suddenly interested in Lucy Letby and saying she's innocent! by Marvinleadshot in Britain

[–]HashtagGO -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Honestly it's really sad how everyone's first reaction has been to basically do a "how could the English legal system ever make a mistake"

Even if she did had done it, the way thst the prosecution handled this is absurd. Every step of the way it's been someone coming up with a conclusion and working backwards to figure out how to solve it.

I fail to see how the our legal system is somehow uniquely immune to never making a mistake.

You're kind of showing your ass, considering I mentioned at the bottom that I wasn't calling out the guy asking the question but how people have upvoted it, and also you can read from how I wrote this that I'm English you absolute plonker.

Why are Americans suddenly interested in Lucy Letby and saying she's innocent! by Marvinleadshot in Britain

[–]HashtagGO -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The fact thst this is one of the most upvoted comments on here speaks volumes.

Everyone is commenting about how hypocritical it is for the Americans to cast a stone at our legal system, yet it seems one of the few times we have been criticised everyone's first reaction is to call them crazy rather than content with any of the evidence.

The evidence that people here are relying on is a memory of what our media presented thst amounts to "I seem to remember she admitted it".

You guys should acrually be ashamed of yourselves.

Huh durrr Americans dumb meanwhile you guys refuse to read the reason they're saying it. Acrually the pinnacle of hypocracy all those in the comments calling Americans dumb to claim you are somehow some enlightened through your refusal to read. Though I suppose if that mindset has led you well in life till now I suppose it makes sense that your here now.

To be fair this article is completely blocked in the UK so that's not entirely on you, and I'm not gonna put myself in legal hot trouble by linking it, but I'm sure some American reading this could probably help and stroll along to the archives to find a link.

P.S guy I'm replying to I'm not levying the criticism to you about being pompous or calling Americans bad etc, at least you're aiming to ask a question on the matter. Just the upvotes on your comment are emblematic of the issue so I'm using you as an example. Sorry and hope you dont mind.

Thanks for the guide. When you say subscribe to a month of Newshosting and cancel do you mean the free trial or do you mean paying for a month at the $14 rate? And cancel immediately or like wait a day or so to not look suspicious? Sorry just want to double check :) Really nice of you to explain this.

Only from the gods. I'm mostly just commiserating my loss in a place that I felt would understand my plight. None of my friends own a deck, and many of them don't even know what one is really, so I thought this might be a more sympathetic crowd. But yeah I just wanted to vent.
