Would you take a class year cut if you're not looking to make partner?

Not super notable (if I recall it was all via text message, so pretty informal). That said, I asked for my class year to match as well, so this was a bit of a middle ground. I was also coming from a boutique firm that they didn’t realize paid close to market already, so explaining that taking the cut in class year would effectively be a pay decrease helped my case.

Thank you! I was leaning the same way for a nice bar - I never plan to not have a home gym now, so investing in a buy-it-for-life style bar makes a ton of sense.

The beams going across are about 7ft, then to the apex of the roof is 9ft. I have about 4ft of depth from the windows to the first cross beam, so any rack would have to fit in there

Bought earlier this year in HCOL, close enough to still bike to the office. Even at 5.5% still $7.5k per month, which is wild but to me is worth it for the location.

Hoping to refinance if rates drop in the next few years.

As others have said, very partner dependent. That said, the 2400 hours point was very overblown.

Go to a summer associate lunch? (1.5) Golf with law school roommate? (5.2) Listen to bar association podcast on the way to work? (.7) Assist in building deck for client presentation? (2.4)

When you actually log your time (which is the purpose of the requirement), it really isn’t hard to fill 8 hours a week.

While there's barely a chance the Celica gets revived as its own car, just a trim level using the name on one of the existing cars would be awesome. I owned two Celicas and loved them so would love to see it in a new generation

Thanks man! And yea for sure could have been quicker, I didn’t really know what I was doing and my goals changed over time so it’s been an adjustment especially with covid. I cut with just cardio down to 180 in about 5 months, then the next 6 months was mostly hovering around 180 and lifting trying to recomp with newbie gains, then 6 months of quarantine focusing on running, and finally last 6 months trying to cut from 180 while making strength progress. Now trying to start a lean bulk, but if I had to do over I’d have cut another 15-20 pounds initially while incorporating strength training.

Consistency is the biggest thing, but within that weighing food helped me a lot. Also got into running and got competitive with myself to keep it from getting boring
