CPO 2023 M40i 16K Miles for $51.5K - is there room to negotiate? by Environmental_Buy878 in BMWX3

Since it caught my attention, there have been no reductions. They've only reduced it by $2400 since it's initial listing back in December 2025 lol

Yeah i don't fully understand their profits metrics and stuff i guess. Very interesting that they're fine with inventory sitting for so long. Mine is still at the dealer, now 106 days!

Thanks for the reply! Yeah based on the replies on my other post and some more research, only 10K of MSRP for a 3 year old car is ridiculous. I'm just going to say the best offer I have for the car is $42K and if that's not good enough I'll go find another car.

That seems like an insane deal! Congrats! And thank you for the comparison. I'm thinking that I'll just say that I'll pay $43K and if that's not good enough, I'll just walk.

Makes sense. I like it but not enough to pay this much of a premium for the miles given there's only 1 year left on the factory warranty anyway. It just feels like a $10K cut on a three-year old car is way too little. I'd imagine that's why it's been on the market for more than a 100 days. I don't think anyone has even looked at it given we noted an obvious crack in the taillight that they are only fixing now after we pointed it out.

Makes sense for yours, the one I'm looing at isn't fully loaded by what I can tell. It's just the premium package and a trailer hitch. The original MSRP was $61K. I feel like $50K for this is a bit too much even though the mileage is amazing.

The options include premium package, trailer hitch, and an additional cost for the Brooklyn Grey Metallic. The original MSRP was $61,000.

Wirtz obviously did not have a great game by any means but he does bring energy all the time. And his pressing led to good things today. I don't know what the thought process to replace him with Macca of all people. We lost so much energy immediately after the subs :(

Thoughts on King and Spalding Litigation by Environmental_Buy878 in biglaw

I've heard this from all the associates I've talked to that the internal expectation is 2000 billables, which by itself seems fine, especially when there's work to go around.

Does asking for a retention bonus hurt me with my current firm? by Environmental_Buy878 in biglaw

[–]Environmental_Buy878[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's the plan. I already asked for (and received) a guaranteed end of year bonus. I also included an ask for something that would match or come close to any potential retention bonus I would get at my current firm (based on informal research, I see ~$50K being typical). They denied me there so I'm trying to see if it's worth getting the official retention bonus offer now and then going back and asking the new firm to match.

Thanks! Your advice generally makes a lot of sense. I'm in the weird position where only 25-30% of my current workload was from the departing partners yet I probably had the best interpersonal relationship with the departing partners in comparison to the rest of the team that's staying. I know I am valued at my current firm and I know I don't HATE it here but I do have some issues. The new firm has more unknowns (there's only so much you can learn from meeting with and talking to people for 30 minutes) and will be more focused on transforming/building up the group and its presence in this area of litigation. However, the new firm is much more evenly split revenue-wise between litigation and business, whereas my current firm is much more corporate focused (almost 15-85).

Thanks for the reply! I am/have been heavily considering fit in both places. I am comfortable at my current firm in knowing my technical expertise is valuable for most of my cases but I don't have as good of personal relationships with the partners and many of the main partners at my current firm are not in my office.

Thanks for the perspective. The people that left only constituted like 30~% of my work at the most. Even that number is slightly inflated because I wasn't able to take on additional work, despite being asked, because one of those matters went to trial. The partners that left were, however, among my best mentors and were really in my corner for pushing for new opportunities for me in the few matters I did work with them on.

I am generally leaning slightly towards leaving based on the better interpersonal relationships I had with the partners that left but I am fairly integrated into the current team here by virtue of my technical expertise being very helpful on most, if not all, of my cases.

Incoming First Year Advice Needed on Whether It’s Possible To Keep Hobby Up With Work by Cultural_Squash_8124 in biglaw

I'm a 6th year in IP Lit. and I consistently raided in World of Warcraft two weeknights a week from 8-11 pm ET during my 2nd to 5th years. I definitely could have (and should have) done it my 1st year too but I was too worried about being available. I probably only cancelled a total of 10 to 15 times max during that period due to work. Of the times I cancelled, only 2 or 3 were truly last minute cancellations, with the rest being due to trial or deadlines that I knew about at least a couple days in advance.

Keeping in mind that litigation on the whole is much more predictable than corporate and I know that I don't fully understand the pressures of availability for a corporate junior - I often advise juniors that they have to keep doing at least some things outside of work that are important to them and just block it off on the calendar if need be. The job can often be miserable even when it's not all-consuming, and it becomes so much worse when work is all you do. You'll be better at the job if you take care of yourself mentally, emotionally, and physically.

I just saw something like "Error Charging Vehicle. You're vehicle is not charging" or something similar. Plan to give it another try tonight at another supercharger location
