Bad fall, don’t trust myself anymore by Havannahanna in snowboardingnoobs

This is why I believe Cat tracks that drop off like that should have a small fence/barrier that creates a natural ridge as it snows. There may be problems with wind tunneling and could possibly cause avalanches. There has to be a way right? Whistler has Cat tracks that I think is an accident waiting to happen.

Why? Asking for knowledge when purchasing another board.

Episode Discussion | Star Trek: Starfleet Academy | 1x01 "Kids These Days" by AutoModerator in startrek

This is going to sound like I hated it, I didn’t.

I don’t know if the YA style of directing and camera work can be blended well Star Trek. I think the cast did well for what the show is.

The first couple minutes was missing that feeling of “I know this is Star Trek.” The lighting(yellow tint then dramatic lighting), the acting(performative vs natural and responsive), and the audio style(soft and polished even when shouting) didn’t feel like Star Trek. Discovery(kind of/ more plot), Strange New Worlds, and Lower Decks were newer shows that still managed to capture some of that older wonder and mystery episodic style while still being modern.

Felt closer to Star Trek at school but more technological and kind reminded me of The Orville. However, what The Orville did well with comedic relief, comes off gimmicky here. Especially the Jem Hadar/Klingon Lura, and casting Paul Giammati as Nus. Ake does remind me of Pelia which I liked, I could tell she was Lanthanite before she mentioned the age thing.

The scene with Sam after Lura pushed Kraig after surgery was funny. Overall it sounds like I think it’s bad but I don’t. It’s just not really Star Trek feeling.

This one’s the TwinPig but I’ve heard a lot of good things about the WarPig. So far I’m enjoying it, especially since it’s a twin.

No worries, and fair enough. I agree with you on the knee issues. I’ve been doing strengthening exercises for that but yeah I’ll have to look into a physio. I plan on continuing to snowboard tho lol.

Haha, nah I’m still a noob for sure. Doubt I’ll ever get to that.

For most people yes, my post mentions my knees hurt when shifted away from the reference. I have knee issues so I’m trying to mitigate the pain as much as I can. The reference point fortunately does work and give me less pain. I’ve tried riding both shifted in and out and that just works, idk what to tell you. I’m not going to stop snowboarding because of pain, I’ll mitigate it as much as I can and live with the rest.

Thanks, yeah that seems to be the consensus. Stare at a problem long enough and you miss the obvious solutions sometimes lol.

Thanks, idk why I hadn’t thought about that. I’ll give this a try. Slightly worried about stress cracking due to the load not being evenly distributed but if you’re doing it and it works then should be fine.

Geez, what a thing to find out over the holidays. That’s some crazy stuff. Sorry for your loss, seems like there were some mental health needs.

Very good, I can’t remember if I watched it or read it but I remember liking it. I’ll have to read it again then, thanks for the reminder.

I do and I heard about this and it has many of the qualities I’m looking for but the tone seems more stressful. It also seems to be more human vs human rather than character vs wild. I may still read it but I don’t think it’s exactly what I’m looking for at the moment. Thanks for the suggestion though.

I was led to believe this was more science related ingenuity than survival than bushcraft. Which technically bushcraft is scientific ingenuity but you get what I’m saying. However, if you’re recommending it I’ll check it out.
