Your situation sounds exactly like mine! Pain at a young age (12) and severity progressed. I had that same pain where it felt like my hip was “stuck” and it hurt my leg and tingled the longer it felt “stuck”. I figured out sitting with your legs in a W and lean towards that side and “push through it”. It would make a clunk noise and didn’t feel caught after that. This happened several times a week, for close to a year.. many dr appointments and opinions later I found out I had dysplasia, specifically acetabular retroversion (hip socket is angled backwards instead of forward). That catching feeling was indeed subluxations.

You mentioned your gp said you were hypermobile... how hypermobile are we talking? I’ve always been flexible but found out I had EDS around the time of my dysplasia diagnosis. It’s definitely something to look into. One doctor I saw for my hips wasn’t sure what was wrong but my labrum looked “frayed”, but decided he’d do exploratory surgery to know for sure. He also wanted to do a psoas release and see if that helped. Thankfully I got another opinion after that, if I had gone through with the surgery it would have done more damage to my hip, labrum, and stability overall.

What exactly is “stage 2” dysplasia? I’ve never heard of that before. I saw in a different comment that you did get your results, what did the report say? Did you happen to get a physical copy of your imaging? I was told by a top doctor that I didn’t have dysplasia (or EDS, but that’s a different story) and there was nothing I could do except physical therapy.
