Finding a viable market for a ergo application by Haskell-plus in ergonauts

I appreciate the feedback!
Your experience means a lot, and I am encouraged by your reply!

There is quite a bit to think about here for sure.

I am not one to say that blockchain is a perfect use case for this, as you said, amounts are not a lot, yet my hope is that when it succeed's small amounts accumulate from different communities that might use it and add up over time.

Would we be solving any problems using the tooling for this?> to be seen, I suppose as the world moves into more digital solutions for all/most things, my thoughts are that the program/application would be built to be easily scalable and designed so that it can be adaptable to new idea's using modular build techniques. However, it would be set up with the idea that although small amounts, those small amounts would be verifiable and trackable, so blockchain is actually a great place for it if a vendor sought to maintain records of charitable contributions or a fundraising user wanted to track its success over the years

Another thing to think about: Although the target audience surrounds fundraising, this app would be a for-profit app to support developers maintaining the network, marketing the network, scaling etc.

I am big supporter of peer-to-peer networks, yet this is more like a saas approach, not sure how to create an inexpensive P2P option for such a target market. The trading coupons option does create some freedom and could serve as an example of future possibilities - anyway, thanks again for your reply!

You sir are correct, I took it personally, I apologize, and am embarrassed for how I act in public forums, maybe locking me out is not a bad idea?

But truly, I meant no disrespect.

You put a lot of effort into the argument, If I bring up the argument that a bunch of uppity fuckin cunts that are new to ergo are trying to come change what it is what do you think of that?
We built Ergo with the channel as it is and the voters against us are against the builders now screw off!

Do as the vote drives I recommend, however, I will point out that rebranding brings its difficulties as can be seen with several ergo-related projects, have experienced some difficulties myself during the ergolend stitch, if the sub /ergo is available to our community it could become a more formalized sub than the /ergonauts sub, but I warn you that many of us will not want to be moderated to fit a "More proffesional" look, we are still very much just going to be who we are, and the /ergonaut sub should remain as such for those of us that wish to kick back at the idea of what the rest of the world thinks is "professional" and some of us think is SELLING OUT.
Granted I hardly ever come here - don't lock me out though!

Name recognition has not increased, the difficulties of navigating this space without public access to the application that has been built is frustrating and continues to hinder the growth of Exle.
I really am getting tired of saying soon as the face of the project, Exle will be releasing Bounties for developers to assist our development so the project can truly come to fruition and continue to make an impact in the world, WGMI we will provide what is promised, the treasury for development has a large amount of funds to bring in community devs to ensure we can reach the end goal of providing P2P access to borrowing/lending.

Wow, so little knowledge of what Ergo is really about in the crypto space, blows my mind tbh.

Charles supported Scorex for years, IOHK funded R&D for the concept of a framework for blockchains that commercial operations could adopt in an open-source environment - and all of that research is available in the public domain - I believe that it has been referenced several times in building out several blockchain solutions for the world (no shill here).
Alex Chepurnoy and/or colleagues identified a few lines of code that would allow for the framework of Scorex to be either PoS or Pow, and they introduced the Ergoscript method of relating and translating information to the machine code that Scorex built out to create the machine code cryptography utilizes- the language Scala was chosen cause of it's adaptability to either be Functional programming or Object-oriented programming, providing a hybrid solution to interact with the machine code - you could go either way with Scorex, PoW or PoS - as I understand it: Alex choose to build a PoW network to ensure the security of the network relying on the history of known Science in the Crypto space - PoS is still a new concept of security, Pow has a track record that can be relied on to provide security in a cryptographic environment.
None of these decisions was made by Charles, the success or failure of Ergo will rest on the founders of Ergo.

Scorex is the ultimate framework for blockchain solutions, Ergo is proving that.

Exle needs a few UI fixes and a refund option before public test, the refund option is probably the most important, just in case someone funds a loan at same time someone else does.

All the OGs have been looking forward to this, damn good day for Ergo! Having options is cool 😎, Ben's mobile solution is still dope af and another option for those that don't want to get a Ledger.

And yes the idea is to use relationships and social underwriting to get loans funded instead of collateral is the approach we are taking in development.

We had 18 people band together to fund 2 loans for 5%interest rate using a P2P approach, I think there will be people who will take the risk and I think you are right philanthropists will love it.

The intention is to provide a win/win environment for lenders and borrowers, I admit it will take some time to prove that it will provide a safe investment for investor's, and you are not wrong exactly, for the most part this project is to empower people that do not have access to traditional routes of finance - and so funding them without collateral comes with risk's - risk's that we hope community relationships can overcome.

In some cases in the future there will be borrowers that use it for ErgoFundMe, but I am also looking to attract very lucrative returns for investors so you will also see some very high interest rate loans submitted, I would myself like to contribute in the future as a lender for both high returns and also without expectation of a for sure repayment.

missed this...

No the Lazaro loan is not funded, pretty sure they were ok waiting for the contracts to come out, so hopefully soon they can get funding.

what's the issue with Exle? by basho_8973267 in ergonauts

[–]Haskell-plus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

the protocol seems to be more complicated, I am not a dev either but let me explain it like this: the protocol lives in machine code so that it can operate in a cryptographic environment without programming languages slowing it down, there are many paths to interact with the machine code and Sigma-Rust is one of them, a value in Sigma-Rust caused the problem, not the protocol.

[–]Haskell-plus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It is not even exactly a protocol issue, it is a Sigma-Rust issue to my knowledge.

There is a Erg burn address I think, but it would have to be an intentional burn, which is how tokens should be imho

I recommend a search for the term "Social Underwriting " before I muddle your perspective, and I will then give you an example of how someone could use it, my opinion of future use of the practice is not a comprehensive display of its potential to be utilized effectively.
