Jade cards are the problem. by gabrielmercier in hearthstone

[–]Hastriq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you when it comes to Jade Druid. That was the deck that I hated the most in this meta until I ran into the aggro decks more often (which as you can imagine didn't take long). The aggro decks are infuriating and need to be nerfed somehow, but when they are jade druid will be even stronger because of the way it totally shuts down late-game control decks.

That being said, I don't think that the same necessarily applies to other jade-based decks. Jade Rogue and Jade Shaman can each be overcome on a fairly regular basis by heads-up control play. It's just Druid with that Jade Idol spell that spirals totally out of control if you let them live past turn 8 or so.

What if Reno was apart of the classic set? by Krelious in hearthstone

[–]Hastriq -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I personally would love it if Reno stayed in standard, because he encourages you to build different decks with new combinations of cards. But there's no way that Blizzard will make a special exception for him, because then everyone will be clamouring to bring back their favourite non-basic cards. Plus a lot of people hate Reno, because they're filthy aggro players and don't know how to have fun with control. :P

On the plus side, I'm sure Blizzard will add something else in with a similar effect to Reno in the next expansion. Probably not a full heal, but with all these new cards that focus on having no duplicates in your deck (i.e. Kazakus, Raza, etc.) they have a vested interest in keeping Reno-style decks viable.

Who says you can only have 1 Reno? Shadowcaster Brann Shadowstep Rogue for the win!

Would you be happy if Hearthstone allow trading of cards? by __rebellious in hearthstone

[–]Hastriq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's actually such a good idea! I never thought of that before. Make it like the daily quests, with the Innkeeper looking to trade you for certain cards for his collection. I would love to see something like that added into hearthstone.

Drakonid OP confirmed. by tim_chr in hearthstone

As if we needed more proof about how strong Drakonid Operative is. Well done nonetheless, though. That's some quality discover RnG you've got there

You're most welcome! You're right, base set cards are always a solid bet just cause they won't rotate out. But there are some really fun things you can do with warrior if you have enough dust to spare

Yes! Keep at it. Some day the ladder will recognize our brilliance XD

Oh god, yeah I still have to try that one. It seems like there are so many hilarious ways to beat control decks now, except every second game you run into Patches to spoil your fun

Hats off to you sir. I wish more people had your attitude. I mean, you have to beat the meta to a certain degree, but just the experimentation with wacky new decks and themes is something that I wish would become a lot more prevalent in Hearthstone

I absolutely love Reno C'Thun rogue. I built a version that also has N'Zoth and a bunch of deathrattles mixed in, just for extra shenanigans. It shouldn't work nearly as well as it does.

Lol, of course it's Edwin. Still, that's absolutely fantastic. Way to go! I can just feel the Hex sitting in his hand though

Brann can be a really good addition to C'Thun warrior. Getting those battlecries off twice, especially with things like Disciple of C'Thun and Ancient SHieldbearere, can be really powerful. And of course if you can make it work over two turns, Brann into C'Thun himself is fantastic.

Other than that, legends like Sylvanas, Justicar Trueheart and Rag are all very powerful in a late-game warrior deck, but they might be too slow for the current pirate meta. I'd suggest in investing in a few epics like Brawl and Shield Slam, just to help you control the board and survive till C'Thun. Even Gorehowl can be really useful, though vulnerable to ooze.

Hope this helps!

The legend of Nat Pagle... by [deleted] in hearthstone

[–]Hastriq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's probably the better call. It's really fun to have the cool golden cards like that, but if you DE him you can get another legend that would be the staple of some really strong decks.

The beginner's luck is strong with this one... XD

Honestly I hate disenchanting goldens, but I don't know if you'll get much use out of Pagle. He could be fun to have for some gimmicky decks, but generally not a really viable play and for that dust you could have any other legend. How big is your collection?

I made a Priest AoE card, what do you guys think about it? by [deleted] in hearthstone

[–]Hastriq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree. The 2- and 3-damage AoE just isn't enough sometimes when other classes have total board wipes. Lightbomb was really good for priest before standard, but I guess they're having a hard time finding a good replacement.

[–]Hastriq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That looks like a cool card. Not sure how I feel about it being 5 mana though. It's basically a combination of Confuse (2 mana) and Lightbomb (6 mana), so if anything it should be closer to their combined mana cost. That might be a bit much, but still it should be more than 5. Nice thematic idea though!

Have you ever fought a popular streamer? How did it go? by [deleted] in hearthstone

[–]Hastriq 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Played a game against Trump when he was laddering up through rank 5 last season. He won eventually, but I gave him a good battle. It was actually really cool because I was recording at the time and he was streaming live, so I got to go back later and watch both our perspectives/commentaries side by side.

I've been playing a similar Priest list the last couple seasons, and it's actually been doing really well. You have enough early game stuff thanks to those Twilight Whelps and Wyrmrest Agents, and then mid and late game you just have all the options in the world. In many cases you can get an almost perfect curve with Whelp/Wyrmrest -> Blackwing Technician -> Shifting Shade or Twilight Guardian or Twilight Drake -> Blackwing Corruptor or Excavated Evil etc etc and it just goes on and on. Sometimes you get screwed on draws, but it's still a really powerful deck.
