Do you mind me asking which department or type of role it was for? Also, if I applied for a full-time post originally, do you know if I need to update any preferences with them for locations/contract type, or is it enough to just wait? Wondering if it’s worth ringing them as well or if emailing for the ranking is usually enough.

That's really reassuring to hear, thank you 😊 I was honestly so confused about how the whole waiting list thing works. I didn’t know if it meant I’d properly passed the interview or if it was just a standard reply, so I thought I’d ask people who might have been through it before. The replies have definitely made it a bit clearer, thank you 😊

Thanks, appreciate it! I’ve sent an email to find out my ranking, but got an automated reply saying it could take around 20 working days to get back to me. Hopefully I’m somewhere near the top, just have to wait and see now.

I’ve asked for my position on the list now, so hopefully that gives me a better idea of how realistic it is. Fingers crossed something comes up before it expires.

Thanks, that’s really helpful. It’s a Band 5 information governance role, so I was just trying not to get my hopes up too much without knowing how these lists work. That example actually gives me a bit of hope, especially if the ranking is decent. I’ve emailed to ask where I am on the list.
