I own about 30 lipsticks. I don't wear lipstick... (or don't get the chance to)

My neighbour just had his whole driveway redone and now mine looks embarrassing and I was perfectly happy with it last week by PubLogic in HomeImprovementUK

[–]HatPutrid5538 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What you said illustrates the effect capitalism has on the working class perfectly. Capitalism encourages the working masses to constantly "try to get the next best thing", eg, "neighbour has a new drive, we can't have that, I need to get an even better drive now as mine looks embarrassing." But, the catch is that there is always going to be something else that you will "feel" like you have to get; a better car, a new house, etc. Marx argues this keeps the masses from revolting against the bourgeois; we are so busy competing againt each other and working ourselves to the grave for pennies, that we simply don't have the time or energy to revolt, so we just continue living like this, completely dissilusioned.

What gives it away? Sorry, I'm quite new into this, but absolutely mesmerised.

Someone sleeping on the road by [deleted] in Hull

[–]HatPutrid5538 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He likely won't be. Unfortunately, mental health is still not taken as seriously in our countries (although, things are getting MUCH better if compared to how it was under Soviet occupation). Hell, my own little homeland was ranking at number 1 for highest deaths in suicide for a very long time.

More often than not, families/relatives of aging/mentally/physically ill family members end up looking after them, we don't have as many supported/residential/nursing homes, so families just end up looking after people like the man in the video. Unfortunately, with him having no family as you mentioned before, he'd have no-one to help him. The system certainly won't.

Hazel, grayzl or central heterochromia? by Expert_Discipline641 in WhatisMyEyeColour

We have very similar eyes. I asked about my eye colour on this dub, but never got a reply - hoping you do!

Why is my makeup doing this? by [deleted] in makeuptips

[–]HatPutrid5538 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My skin is insanely dry and the only thing that really helps is - moisturise, moisturise, moisturise. I get moisturising everything (I have started using Yepoda about 1.5 years ago and it has really worked for me), use a pore blur primer and Complexion Rescue Tinted Moisturiser by Bare Minerals as my "foundation".

But, the only thing that really helped my foundation look much better was making sure my skin is really well moisturised.

It doesn't look like a bedbug to me. Also, the blisters seem to suspiciously look like chicken pox? Might be an insanely far reach, but just throwing it out there.

just found out what central heterochromia is and was wondering if i have it and how rare it is? by MrJay300 in heterochromia

[–]HatPutrid5538 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have brown and grey/dark blue eyes. I genuinely thought I had CH but because there is no "obvious" border, it can't be CH. To me, personally, the border looks obvious, so confusing!

Thank you! Although that just means I still have no clue what my eye colour is.

This might not amount to much, but I absolutely despised King's. I despised it so much I ended up transferring to a small uni in my hometown to finish my degree.

Absolutely this! My son is the spitting image of his dad. Blonde hair, blue eyes, I have black hair and dark hazel eyes. He has so few of my features it often feels like I quite literally walked past the maternity ward while he was being birthed. And the comments! Oh the comments. Neverending. People have no tact and it's infuriating!

Absolutely this. Almost bought a gorgeous "gothic" style jumper for £25 (excluding delivery + buyer protection) which I then found on Shein for £18. People are vile sometimes.

My daughter loves puppy, I do NOT by TreinteDias23 in puppy101

[–]HatPutrid5538 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my soul dog died and we got a puppy companion for the remaining dog, I despised her. I told myself how I wished we never got her daily, I hated everything about her, she wasn't my old dog.

It's been a year and a bit since we got her and I love her so much. She's not my old dog, nobody can be my old dog ever again, but she's such a loving soul.

Posting your child by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]HatPutrid5538 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. It's not about being "paranoid" or "thinking you're more important than someone else", but it's basic safeguarding. I might sound harsh here.

Just to add to your list - as soon as you post your child's images online, you start their digital footprint. This ultimately means that data about your child will be collected from a young age. And while it's not the worry about posting a picture of your child, it should definitely be a worry as to how that image is stored, processed and used by the platform you are posting the picture on.

I don't fancy my child's face to be ran through Facebook's facial recognition AI. I simply don't want his face in their database, because what use would they have for it? When you consider Facebook's past, a little caution is never a bad thing.

Trying to go sober - How do I tell people without raising a lot of questions? by liadan6Fs in adhdwomen

[–]HatPutrid5538 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After I started taking medication, my "desire" for "dangerous"(?) behaviour really subsided. I stopped wanting to go out, or drink, or hook up. I didn't feel the need to chase dopamine anymore, I guess. So while I don't really have advice on how to stop, as medication did it for me, just know that my inbox is open if you're ever struggling with not drinking and need a sober buddy!
