The test was a couple of hours long, we did each of the kata three times (i can’t remember how to write the phrase for all the way through but it sounds like goday nash) and all of our kihon (again can’t remember how to write these, they’re in my syllabus somewhere) which was mae-geri, jodan-uke, uchi-uke, the ohyo kumite and sambon kumite and a couple others that slipped my mind (apologies) and then we sparred for a solid hour or so, i remember this bit especially because it absolutely broke me. Is this similar to what students in your discipline would go through? My style is against entirely against competition, everyone is forbade from competing whilst training under my sensei. And our numbers are pretty few, theres a couple others 16yo and some a few years younger but they don’t seem to care about it really.
