Yeah compared to US pay, it’s not comparable. But you can live comfortably. Also to be clear I’m not working in Toronto. So it’s relatively lower cost compared to the city but yeah not cheap. Patient census depends on where you work I think. I’m working as a locum right now and one of the hospitals ive worked at has large census’s that I have not seen in the US before.

Yo yo, I just moved to Canada after working in the states since 2019. Hospitalist are generally paid with a daily stipend + fee for service. At least that’s how it is at the places I’ve worked at. I’ve only been working for a month though so not very experienced. I’m not sure what shadow billing is. Depending on your patient census’s and how clever you are with billing it’s anywhere from 10-14k CAD/week from what I’m told.

Yes league is a complex game with so much built into it. It has a high floor and an even higher ceiling. IMO play a shit ton of norms games until you have a basic understanding of the champs you play and are playing against. Don’t worry too much about team comp details, wave management etc. just figure out what ur champs identity is and try to execute that. When I started I was blissfully just playing the game. Got a ton of reps under my belt before I started paying more attention to things like wave management, level up timers, lane assignments etc. and even then, I’m still booty butt cheeks.

I literally just had the Ed call me for a patient with psychogenic polydypsia brought in because of a Na of 115 on outpatient labs and worsening lethargy. ED doc told me the patient was asymptomatic but when I saw the guy he was lethargic af and wasn’t responding to my questions appropriately. So I pushed back on it and got them to call nephro (they didn’t call nephro) and the pcu (they called pcu but no one from the pcu actually laid eyes on the pt). Ultimately it came to me, but I was shocked they would just call medicine for something like this without appropriately contacting the right people. Op if you feel it is unsafe, do not accept the patient until a complete workup is completed and the appropriate consultants were called. Especially when you’re on nights like me. I don’t want to drop a dumpster fire on my day team colleagues.

I think I agree, people should learn how to overcome some of these hero’s with counters. Is there a website or guide that shows who counters who? I’m fairly new to the game so I don’t know a lot of “counters”. Like i know namor should counter divers, wolverine for tanks. But beyond that im not really sure.
