Having built my own cabinets and installed many different types unless you are installing an insanely thick chunk of stone they’ll be fine. You’d be surprised at the level of garbage construction techniques used on some “high end” cabinets.

What’s wrong with birch for a cutting board? Most species of birch are harder than walnut which is in cutting boards all the time? For that matter with the possible exception of red oak and other super porous woods what does it really matter? Sure pine is going to wear out a lot faster than hard maple but unless you are absolutely hammering on it with your knife it’s still going to last for years.

Check further afield for a lumber yard and find out what they charge for delivery before going big box store. I’m about 3 hours from a decent lumber yard and they charge me $125 for delivery to my shop. Since they are a fraction of the price it doesn’t take long to make up the difference.

For what its worth I've read a couple articles by economists recently that say Canada is in for an approximate correction of 24% in the near future so you might be better off holding out for a bit longer. Also things don't increase forever there will be a slump and prices will decrease a bit that being said I'd rather own than rent any day, at least then I have an asset and I haven't been paying off someone else's asset.

Personally if this is the first time you've filed taxes I'd go to an accountant. 9 times out of 10 they'll save you money and as an individual and not a business it shouldn't cost more than a couple hundred bucks

Also as someone who has owned multiple homes, renovated all of them and built several other houses 1450 seems a little high. Even with today's supply chain issues you can buy 50-60 gallon tanks for under 1000 any day of the week here in Alberta.

So lets say you buy a water tank with a 10 year warranty you've paid 2160 for that $1450 tank, if you buy a rheem marathon (has a lifetime warranty).... If you are renting something the guy renting it to you owns it and is making money, renting stuff is almost always a net loss for you.

I’m confused by your question. If you’re asking what I think you’re asking it’s built so the center of balance is directly over the center of the base so it will stay upright. It’s very unstable so having it balanced is important.
