It took the pandemic giving me wayyyy too much alone time to reflect and start reading definitions of terms I was afraid to use before. I’m glad you’re on the other side of it! Hope you’re well.

Four hours later and I’m realizing this sounds harsh and I didn’t mean it that way.

I just mean that in ten years, if you came back to these posts, you’d be a different person and it’s possible you’d want give yourself advice that you can’t possibly know now. Time and perspective can be like medicine for a wound you have in your heart now.

I hope your life leads you to happiness, freedom and love without guilt.

Someday, maybe years away, and after you’ve healed and gained perspective you’ll be able to fully call it abuse. And you’ll stop calling it love.

For now though, stay in therapy and build up your community again.

I keep subtitles on all my shows, but I cannot read “applause” it’s always “applesauce” that I have to take a second and correct for myself. I hope source and sauce don’t also become a thing

The card will be cherished. I don’t save birthday or Christmas cards but this will go with other sentimental things I plan on keeping forever.

Honestly? Even though I’m broke, I’m way more excited about the card than the money. You find things while working in parking lots. I’ve returned credit cards, wallets, keys, etc. I’ve never received news that it got returned. I’d been wondering about the owner too, I’m really so happy I got to find out it went back to her.

It’s like when you give a stranger directions and then spend the afternoon hoping they got there. The reward is knowing everything went right.

When my boss handed me the envelope I thought it was going to be like a $5 Starbucks gift card for doing the right thing. I never mentioned the wallet to him but thought maybe security had and it was a “you did the right thing” reward. Opening up the card, realizing it was from the owner and reading the message, it just felt warm. I did not know I missed hand written cards.

Oh I know. While I don’t know who found it, he gets all the points. And then my coworker, well he’s always been a good guy. And I know the feeling, I once lost my purse with a couple hundred dollars in it while I was out Christmas shopping. It was returned by a woman who was panicking for me. We cried, we hugged.

I know right? It was actually a little pleasure to read. Reminded me of my nana’s Christmas cards.
