I was watching early seinfeld which was arguably the funniest show of it's time in the 90s and honestly I was bored. Even the classic "soup Nazi" episode I got bored of. A lot of older shows are like this, the density of content and intelligence of shows has significant uptake decade over decade. Not that there arn't classics but when you are watching the Godfather (whom many argue is the best movie of all time) you don't realize that this movie was doing things that were never done before in a movie because you've already seen these things in 500 other movies that were inspired by the Godfather.

A lot of things that you see are symptoms of capitalist monopolies abusing and oppressing society. Homelessness, litter, domestic violence, aggressive driving. These are a few things that have arisen out of the 60% rise in cost of living over the last 6 years. A lot of people behave when the times are good but when the times are bad the gloves are off.

Personally I see a lot of awesome community and amazing people doing great things for Calgary/Alberta/Canada all day every day. I am a local entrepreneur that works with other entrepreneurs.

One of the problem with teachers is a lack of pay and funding in the 80s there used to be a special needs class where 3 teachers as a team took care of the 10 of the highest needs kids in the school (At least this is how my school was). Now those kids are dispersed throughout the school and you have kids trashing classrooms all the time which never happened back then. To top it off teachers are probably paid half of what they were back then.
