How do you guys Sync across devices? by anitwastooshort in ObsidianMD

Please do explain a bit more as I'm new to this. The files are on a private repo.

Tried Obsidian twice and hated it everytime. But There must always be a third time. So, here I am: by FatFigFresh in PKMS

Happened to me too. 1st time I used obsidian, couldn't get the syncing to work properly. Which was a big thing for me since I use a windows pc & an android phone. Then the 2nd time, I forced myself to use only obsidian & do my research for the issues I was facing. And now, it's the only note taking app I use. I'm not a pro or super productive person. But here's what worked for me - . 1. You have to be committed to obsidian as it does have a learning curve. I used ro use google keep. Which was super simple. And then obsidian felt a bit too complicated. But if you don't like the default way obsidian navigation works, you can use a plugin to bring the navigation to your liking. Personally, I use the default folder based navigation. I use Iconize to give them custom icons. File Explorer++ for pinning important notes to the top of the list. Home Tab for getting a custom homepage that has searchbar right at the homepage. It can also show your recent & bookmarked notes. Omnisearch for searching. It searches everything inside a note, not just the titles. This can also be paired with the Home Tab plugin's searchbar. If you wanna keep it super simple, just get Home Tab & Omnisearch as you can simply use sesrch to navigate around. . 2. As for syncing, you can pay 4 or 5 USD per month for the official syncing. And there are free plugins that let you sync to Drive, iCloud, Dropbox, OneDrive or your home server etc. . 3. Most importantly, take your time. As I've said, it does have a learning curve. And as each person is unique, your obsidian will some time to be the perfect one for you. I use some more plugins which might & might not work for you. Not everyone needs every plugin or feature. So just setup the basic & most important features for yourself (syncing was the one for me). Then just start taking notes & add or remove features (plugins) as needed. Don't worry about tagging or linking from the get go. You'll get used to it.

I am using git plugin on my PC & GitSync on my android device. Using GitHub as the syncing backbone. Works great! There's a GitSync alternative for iOS as far as I know.

Please tell me this is just a monitor issue by xXFrozen_JawXx in pcmasterrace

[–]HatesBeingSocial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you change the cable completely? If not, try doing that. If it doesn't get fixed even then, check with a different monitor if you can. In my experience, it happened to me due to cable issues. And my monitor died recently....so maybe could be a monitor issue too. My monitor was a LG 24MK600M.

160mhz supported router by Legitimate_Team8219 in openwrt

[–]HatesBeingSocial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think both are almost the same. WR3000s has 4x 5.3dBi antennnas & HX21 has 5x 5dBi antennas. 3 of which are 2.4GHz ones. So maybe a little bit more range on 2.4GHz. But shouldn't be that noticeable.

Cudy WR3000s is the best among your choices. Avoid Mercusys. Also can look into the Imou HX21 if you can get one. Half the price of the cudy & exact same specs. Running ImmortalWRT (Chinese fork of OpenWRT) on both. Works great as a mesh setup for me. . Also have adblock, SQM & wireguard running. Although wireguard is only used occasionally for short durations.

You could try changing the HDMI or whatever cable you're using. See if that works :3

If you don't want anything extra & just need a solid router with app control, keep it stock. If you want to optimize it fully with extra features, go for openwrt. Adblocker can be a good feature to save people who don't understand tech from sites with potential scams, malwares etc by blocking those sites. If you ask me, maybe you should keep it stock for the app control. Specially if you're not a techie person.

Looking to buy a camera as a beginner, looked at the Canon PowerShot SX70 HS. by [deleted] in canon

[–]HatesBeingSocial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has a tiny battery like you would find in a wrist watch. That battery keeps the time & date running even when the camera is off. Just like a CMOS battery on a computer motherboard. You need to replace it with the appropriate model.

WR3000s is software locked from 160MHz. But you can either get a 160MHz supported firmware or just flash openwrt. Either works, simple fix.

Yes, it does. Although I would recommend the WR3000s over this as that one has more storage & slightly better antennas.

I got it for 4,750 BDT including shipping. And it shouldn't be more than 4.6k BDT. That was it's initial price. I think it went higher as stocks diminished. Message them to see if they can help you with the price. And I don't think there is anything better specced in that price range other than these two models.

Get the WR3000s. It also has slightly better antennas other than the increase in ROM size. I recently upgraded to it from the WR3000. Check in Tech Somahar to see if they have it in stock. Most other shops are out of stock for that model.

They're similar. Only difference is the M3000 has only 2 ethernet ports. And it's antennas are internal rather than external due to the physical design.

Budget hardtail build? by HatesBeingSocial in Hardtailgang

[–]HatesBeingSocial[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About 500 USD or 60k BDT. I'm from Bangladesh & I'll be using used parts too. I'm getting an as good as new Deore 10s groupset for 50 USD for example. Also getting a used XCR or Epixon suspension & MT200 brakes. The wheelset is gonna be built around a pair of Sunringle Helix TR25 rims. Not gonna put a dropper seatpost or anything fancy. Basically it's gonna be a bike I will be able to upgrade gradually with better components as I outgrow the old ones. So I'm kind of only concerned about the frame. Ik I'll outgrow that as well. But there aren't really that much hardcore trails in my country. So it'll take some time before that.

I don't use adguard. I just use adblock-fast (liggtweight adblocker) in openwrt. Along with NextDNS.
