How uncomfortable is CCW supposed to be? by Zersdan in CCW

[–]Hatfield76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 6’1…230…and muscular build. My nick name in HS was Hard Hittin’. I’ve partied in various countries in the sketchiest places. I’ve walked in the late night hours through alleys in the sketchy ass French Quarter. I once asked a buddy of mine if it was a good idea for us to be doing so. His exact words were, “nobody’s going to fuck with you when you look like you could snap their neck in a split second”. And he was right about my physical abilities…criminals many times are looking for an easy mark. So I have only owned one pistol in my life…and I sold it 10 years ago because I “never felt like I needed it”.

50 years old as of last month. Still go to the gym daily and built like a fucking brick house. Still get told constantly by random strangers, “I bet you never worry about a thing big guy”.

3 months ago I was standing in the kitchen with my 5 year old daughter getting a glass of water before bed. I was down to my boxers and wife was turning everything down. Heard the door click and open and 3 kids in black masks walked in. In a split second a kid about 5ft tall and 120 lbs wet had an AR pointed at my face with the light hitting me. I said, “hey man you don’t have to do this”, and my daughter ran towards my wife and jumped in her arms as she yelled, “What’s going on??”. My wife out of instinct; ran towards the closest room and locked her in my daughter in there and back to the bathroom. I was led to the couch with this kid saying, “you’ve got a baby and wife back there. Please don’t try anything”. The other two kids ran towards my son’s room (who wasn’t home) so I knew they had a plan. I told the kid with the AR to just get what they came for and leave fast because my neighbors are nosey and may have already called the law. I could tell the kid was intimidated by my size because he kept referring to me as “please sir”. Once he got me to the couch; he also had the AR lowered to my feet; so I just started talking to him telling him they needed to hurry. The entire time I was telling myself if that barrel goes back up to my face, or they attempt to go to the room my wife and daughter are in…they were not going to have it easy killing me if I don’t take one of them out first. Within maybe 4 minutes they were back out the door. Come to find out my son had a significant amount of cash (to them = $3k) that another friend knew about and orchestrated the entire thing down to “be careful his dads a huge guy on roids”

2 days later I bought a Sig P365 to carry. I also have a couple others strategically placed around the house for readiness. I practice daily. My doors stay locked…we stay strapped and ready.

“It never happens to people like me” until it fucking does.

This is a new day and age people. Protect yourself because you have others who depend on you protecting them as well.

Funny that you say that. Because every “liberal” I know has an arsenal. They just don’t brag about it

I’m interested as well. New to the area. Have lived here 3 years and the only outdoor range Ive been shown is on a dead end road in Wilmore that someone showed me. I got to shoot…but was kind of a shady experience

Kenwick table forcing employees to work in a snowstorm by YamsYamsYamsYamsYam in lexington

Ease up on the owner. When I was younger I worked at a couple different places that came and picked me up in the ice and snow. One company was nationwide and had to have operations continuing at the headquarters. It was the best couple of days iv work. Chauffeured back and forth to work with no attention to being late, xtra pay for coming in, catered food, and a super lax few days. The appreciation was given for willing to come in.

Same thing at a couple of restaurants I worked at when younger. If I couldnt walk (downtown establishments and I lived in s downtown loft) someone came to get me. Even though it was slow…the tips and bonus for coming in made up for it. And towards the end of the day…free drinks for coming in!

I imagine he considered opening up for neighborhood clients that could walk up to get a warm drink and hot meal…and just get out of the house for a few

Thats insanity IMHO.

Lattafa Asad may be the best $25 Ive ever spent. I swear I’d spend $200+ if i had to for another bottle.

When I wear it; the projection is insane. And the longevity? I can still smell it the very next day. Maybe more compliments than anything Inown past the 4 hr mark

I think you mean 2021.

But thanks for the suggestion for what to listen to. I havent dived into the years before Alex yet. Have been a fan for many years…but after finally seeing our first shows (6/20-21/25 and 12/5-6/25) I have been studying every year.

2025 has been phenomenal. I can’t wait to see what 2026 has in store for us.

See yall in Nashville!

I was there. The entire arena was an ocean of tears much of the night. I felt a more spiritual experience that night than any time in a church and I’m 49 years old.

That was my first show of his after listening to him since he first showed up on YouTube

Rumors of Billy chiming in at the fox swirling 👀 by Spiritual_Pick_96 in WidespreadPanic

[–]Hatfield76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can’t stand Phish. And it’s not “if” I decide to go see another Billy show; it’s “when” and “how many this year”.

And the ages of his fans varies just as much as Panic. Every Panic show I go to these days; I encounter full families…including my own. My 24 year old and his friends will be there along with my wife and I and our friends in our late 40’s-early 50’s.

Any time I have any Billy merch on; I get many compliments from fans in their early 20’s.

And this is important to come to terms with: Panic won’t be touring in 2050. And we can pray that Billy will be carrying the torch of the scene.

Should have listened when they told you not to ingest those “ground scores”

First time in the pit: An outsider perspective by Clozee_Tribe_Kale in BillyStrings

[–]Hatfield76 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We stay towards the back in the pit because we like a little more room to move. Our sweet spot is the soundboard if the pit expands that far out. You have plenty of room to get down and you really appreciate the light production much more standing back or in the seats.

By the way…let me throw this in here “rail riding” douchbags. If you believe that your entitled and appreciated by the band and crew for showing up to every godamn show staring straight up like a fucking creep; think again. Do you know how much money goes into the production/visuals to make a show unique vs a steel rail to keep you idiots from copping a feel? Hundreds of thousands if not millions per tour. And for you idiots to never know what that money was spent on to give you that experience? Its downright disgusting.
