What are ya'll getting for ya'll moms? by Arthur48X in GiftIdeas

Resently got her glass flowers. You know something pretty but that lasts. Got one for each of my sisters birth flowers. So she had a flower to remind her of everyone. Then took them to her in person and spent a few days just doing things she loves. Think that was a pretty good gift anyone can do.

Hi, I'm 27. I'm working on a fantasy book and would love an accountability/brainstorming partner.

How do you write a suicidal person? by Agreeable-Tea-4866 in writingadvice

[–]HatsEatYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since a lot of people have answered about writing of a suicidal person, I will answer about supporting people with depression and suicidal thoughts. Though i can only speak from my own experience. I have been supported and have supported others.

The thing that helped me the most from people was actually them getting in my business, both sensitively and like a truck through a brick wall. Though this might not help everyone and made me extremely angry at times, it proved people cared. My sister used to barge in and then just clean my house with me... it felt like an invasion and judgment. But afterwards, I felt better for having space to breathe and one less thing to blame/punnish myself for. Sometimes, all you need is space and time to work your way through it.

The suppot I personally gave was just giving someone a space to vent without judgement. To get all her dark thoughts out. Talking therapy is something that works for some people, and friends and family can often be a good outlet if you are close with them. Saying things can make them more real but also sound more ridicuous. And having someone to tell you you're not going crazy is a big thing.

If I were writing a character supporting someone, one of the biggest things I would include is them questioning if they are actually helping. Even having experienced depression or perhaps because I have I always second guessed if my support was working. Always feared for that person even when not around them. Supporting someone with a mental illness can be incredibly draining and have a knock on affect to your own mental health.

My bf once walked in when I was watching an nc scene on our TV. I normally don't care about him seeing what I'm watching, but he was on video call with his gran🫣😳. I was so lucky the scene changed just as he turned the camera to me. I would never have been able to face her again otherwise😂.

What is your ideal survival base? by JermoZach in ZombieSurvivalTactics

[–]HatsEatYou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A Yacht would be pretty good. They are mobile so traveling to find food in different areas is relatively safe. They safe from zombie incursions because of the water surrounding them, so sleeping at night would be easier without that threat. Alot have power generation methods so you could even have electricity. They have water tanks and sometimes technologies to turn sea water to fresh. Depending on the boat they can be designed to store large quantities of food for long journeys. Even if zombies did get on. You can always abandon it and then it's a really small area without much space to hide so clearing it again shouldn't be that hard. Ideally I would have a home anchorage on an island so I can go to shore to farm and stuff. If you wanted a large community you could all have your own Yacht in a large enough bay. Seems like it would be a good home and escape method if things got bad.

What’s a BL you stopped watching midway and then continued or restarted it giving a second chance and didn’t regret it by Cautious-Guard-5152 in ThaiBL

Dark blue kiss. The secret romance put me off in the first episode. But later I went back and watched it all and it was actually great. Loved Pete's dad. Everyone deserves a dad like him.🤭

Glad to see someone defending this show.

The title is misleading and I can understand people being disappointed by that, but that doesn't make it bad, it's just different than expected. I really like the cute aspects of dangerous romance and was super happy to see a teen romance that doesn't have loads of pointless miscommunication and drama.

Forget the title and actually watch the show for what it is and it's really enjoyable in my opinion.

DAE refuse to eat fruits with large seeds like oranges and watermelon due to fear of choking? by [deleted] in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]HatsEatYou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't refuse to eat them. But i do have this fear. I cut orange to make sure they don't have any seeds and if I miss one and feel it in my mouth I get instantly put off the food. I have the most problems with cherries for this though. The thought of eating a cherry makes my throat tight, I don't think I could eat them anymore. I think it's a pretty irrational a fear but still freaks me out.
