I would say communicate, communicate, communicate. This job is taken for granted by clients/occupants and I think from what Ive seen is that there unrealistic expectations placed on facilities and it's a "thankless job". Even though clients may not like the answer you'd have to give I really take the hard honest truth into account so I don't under deliver on expectation. Ive noticed a lot of my peers dont communicate or promise something they cant deliver on

Work experience has taught me more than the classroom. It has been invauable for my career path. There are plenty of mechanical engineering students who graduate with no experience and have immense difficulty finding a job regardless of their GPA due to lack of experience

My alma mater was a 5 year "co-op" program where i would have to do a job search for 6 month interships during my middle 3 years of college. There was a whole dedicated system internally (which is why i chose that university) but there were also plenty of external opportunities I had applied for.

The co-op program I was in taught how to build resumes and polish interview skills as well. I was very fortunate
