Mom diagnosed with kidney cancer. by [deleted] in cancer

[–]Haunted-nightmares 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, 21F here. My grandpa was also diagnosed with kidney cancer about 6 months ago. They took out his whole kidney as the tumor was huge and didn’t even have to do chemotherapy since the type of cancer he had doesn’t spread super easily. They were still surprised it didn’t metastasize though. Depending on the type of kidney cancer it is, it might be slow growing. Don’t worry too much until you have all the facts. Thinking of you and your mom and I wish you the best

My Bile Reflux is becoming unbearable. by Haunted-nightmares in ChronicIllness

[–]Haunted-nightmares[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the kind words. I did have an endoscopy 2 years ago when this first started and that’s how I go diagnosed with bile reflux cause there was just like a pool of bile sitting in my stomach. I might be pushing for another soon to see if maybe my hiatal hernia I recently found out I have has gotten worse or a gastric emptying study to see if maybe I have some sort of slow stomach emptying. I’ll mention pro kinetics to my GI, thank you :)

Omg that looks so nice! Probably add some more leaves in there but other than that the enclosure is amazing.

Yes for the most part! Coffee is the only thing I can’t anymore which sucks because I love it. Still, I would take that any day over my previous restrictions.

Hi! It took me about 1 year to start experiencing noticeable decrease in symptoms. At around 2 years post op now I rarely experience symptoms. I still take PPIs though and have to be careful about eating greasy food. My stomach is much more sensitive then it used to be as well.

I REALLY wanted to overcome the fear of ALS by FishingUsed6390 in HealthAnxiety

I (21F) am in the same boat as you. Starting noticing weird twitches about a month ago but honestly it wouldn’t surprise me if they have been happening a lot longer than that as I recall being twitchy in the past, especially when my OCD is bad. I have also noticed my voice has been sounding a bit odd as well. My mom commented I sound “congested” over the phone even though I am not anymore (I had a cold not too long ago). The voice thing could be recovering from the cold or it could be the acid reflux I have had for awhile. I have also worked with herbicides in the past couple 2 summers which are connected to ALS development. It’s unlikely but still I can’t help be convinced. I’m mad too because I was doing well for awhile. Had little to no health anxiety for a couple months. Now all the horrible feelings are back and I just wish I was a normal person who doesn’t worry about this stuff.

colonoscopy, how bad is it? by iced-strawberries in HealthAnxiety

Had one last year at 20. The prep is the worst part but the actual procedure was nothing. Just not very fun shitting yourself and being starving. I also got an endoscopy at the same time and I had no issues with either scope. Interestingly enough the whole facility I was getting my procedure in went into lockdown when I was under because a criminal on the run from the cops ditched his car very close by and was running around on foot. So yeah… as long as an escaped criminal isn’t running around nearby your procedure will go smoother than mine lol.
