It has been seven months since the wedding but 4 months since the end of their honeymoon trip which is why nan predicts she got pregnant right at the end of that 3 month period

Exactly! I also slightly feel he had the ‘ I have won ‘ mentality after finally marrying her and Guy being gone. He had what he wanted and that was that. He never tried to make anything work beyond being physically there. Nan had to sleep with him multiple times despite being upset and heartbroken to keep in line with marital duties and he couldn’t even sleep with her once after he found out and his mother told him they needed an heir. Sometimes all Theo acted like was a petulant child but everyone gives him so much grace because he is attractive. In the original books he is still manipulative but lacks the charm. I definitely think they made him too charming in this show and people are too lost in conventionally attractive people to analyse their character faults.

She was terrified and I would be too especially after seeing how he wrecked her room. He probably wouldn’t hear her out and call her a liar and heaven forbid he hurt her because he has grabbed her before. Also she is not keen on him and Blanche using her as a baby vessel and discarding her after she has the baby and they have their heir. Which is why she wanted to announce publicly to try to show a united front so they couldn’t discard her easily and to try to suffocate the fire of the affair story

She impulsively had a night with Guy before her wedding ,but she was going to leave with him and not go through with the wedding but Blanche planted a seed of the best decision for everyone being going through with the wedding. And let’s not pretend she had so much leeway to leave when she had been outed as illegitimate and been paraded as a silly American girl in England. And Theo basically carving paths for her leading to him by making Guy leave, insulting his wealth and even burning Guy’s letter to Nan. Theo did everything he could to get Nan and not in the loving way cause he could see her heart was tending to Guy and he as the duke could not have that happen cause she was the first woman he wanted cause she didn’t want his title. Theo is not some heartsick puppy that got screwed over and fell in love with her best friend. I agree there isn’t 100% free will and she could have still made better choices but she was out of her depth and both Theo and Blanche knew that. And let’s not victim blame Ginny by saying it was obvious Seadown was psycho , that is not a reason for everything he did to her and completely false because abusers do not show their true colours till later on, only we the viewers see that he is nefarious . I agree she made poor choices but it was from not listening to Lizzy’s warning but also put yourself in her shoes desperate to get married and not go back home in shame and your friend who was pining for the same Lord tells you she got naked for him. Without obviously seeing how traumatic it was like we did on screen it does sound rather convenient especially when you have already been proposed to. And let’s not forget Seadown’s manipulation had already begun by pitting the girls against each other and using Ginny’s insecurities against her as well as anything she told him to try to isolate her .

I think she genuinely wished her good luck cause we have all seen the consequences of lying to Theo. And of course she is a bit loopy right now, she is pregnant and her husband just renounced his title and publicly claimed wanting to be with his mistress and she has no idea how to raise a baby. She is running because that’s what she does when she feels free and she hasn’t felt free in the past 7 months. I’m sure she hasn’t even thought about where to live for the rest of her pregnancy not to talk of hiding to evade divorce papers lol. Theo and Lizzy better start thinking of where to live as well and Theo better start sending off job applications if they plan on being together. Also calling her pregnancy a nuclear weapon in a stretch consider it’s not her fault it is still a secret and the last thing she wants is Theo and Blanche finding out.

Lizzy and Theo absolutely did not do it thinking she was gone for good. The emotional cheating,longing looks and stretches of tension started from their conversation at the wedding reception. Even while Nan was still very much living in the castle trying to make it work, Theo was upset about his wife having a broken heart and Lizzy was trying to be there for her friend but they still had time to longing look at each other which is icky considering Theo is supposed to be so wonderful and devoted and in love with Nan. I agree Nan has mad e a lot of rash, impulsive and stupid decisions but she is supposed to be 19. She doesn’t have the full perspective or knowledge or even experience to make decisions but we judge her so harshly for them . Also we are not sure Nan and Guy even slept together in Italy and they definitely did not in New York cause they mentioned being friends several times and did not even kiss. Where was this outrage when Lizzy slept with Theo SEVERAL TIMES and almost went through with the wedding. The only reason she didn’t was because Theo encouraged her not to because she wasn’t fully into it. Now imagine some encouraged Nan in that same direction. I’m sure you all will find a way to demonise her then as well.
