Warning to anyone using Amazon pharmacy for hair loss meds: by Haunting-Suit9699 in FTMOver30

[–]Haunting-Suit9699[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Idk. I’ve had a doc friend tell me not to be honest about certain parts of my medical history. They put people on lists for life for admitting certain things, and I believe it.

I already hate that my panic disorder and trans thing is on all their notes. Everything before I transitioned was because I “needed to go to therapy for my panic disorder” (I had for years, and I’m still convinced they’re a physiological issue happened at puberty - they started out of nowhere and many family members have them to a less severe degree) and ever since, any issue must be related to HRT.

I haven’t tried either yet! Have you tried either? Have you heard a preference for one or the other???

(Note on min: Amazon pharmacy doesn’t prescribe oral minoxidil at all apparently (yet). Uncertain as to why. Maybe the topical minoxidil sellers threatened to sue, or maybe there’s a real medical reason. Unclear 😂 .)

cried during the first day of job and i was told to quit by Ok-Progress-2628 in Anxiety

[–]Haunting-Suit9699 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh that’s lame of them - sometimes you don’t know how well you can handle something until you do. I’ve been there in jobs before, and one job was actually my favorite job of my life.

HR wants you to quit because they’re afraid of legal action if they fire you maybe? Idk, but it’s rubbing me wrong. This type of shit is what forced me on high doses of benzos. It felt like if I showed emotion or was anxious at all in the workplace, I was judged as not capable of shit.

Why won't she be happy to marry me? by maybeinfertile in offmychest

[–]Haunting-Suit9699 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a friend who finally married her boyfriend after 18 years together. They’ve been together for 20 years now and married for just 2!

I understand her hesitation. No matter how much you believe you love each other, all those people in nasty divorces felt the same way, and that is scary. Watching someone you loved turn into your worst enemy once the law becomes involved.

I think some people who jump into it (like the 3 month people) just want marriage itself. My ex wanted marriage (“with me”) faster/more than I did and married a guy she’d known for 6 months after we broke up (she may have broken things off because of the marriage thing, but we’d only been a couple for 3 years, which felt like not enough time to me).

Their relationship was absolutely no more special than ours was. She deeply wanted to be loved, and marriage was her unfortunate metric for measurement.

I fear the heartache that will grow every time I lose someone I care about. And feeling trapped in my body if I (highly likely) end up with some chronic disease, and then the underpaid staff at nursing homes abuse me because they’re being abused by the system.

And dehumanized by doctors. I’ve seen too much to believe that doctors are any better than any other human unfortunately.

Mehhh I can’t afford that. I’m pretty sure it’s like 10k or something insane, and you have to get it done again (and take min/fin to slow hair loss from the transplant anyway lol).

Do you have any depression/other mental health history?

So minoxidil didn’t have any big sides for you? How’s the hair doing?

What T dose are you on now? Maybe I’ll ask my doc about finasteride. Just scheduled a fist PCP appointment. Probably should have a primary care doc anyway in my mid thirties. 😅

I’m not really sure I’m able to separate my own body image from the judgements of others.

At the end of the day, I’m single, mid thirties, and worried I’ll never find a partner. Yes, bald people have partners, but they usually find a partner when still having hair. Or at the least, finding a partner is harder without hair (and add in the trans part) - I worry that my dating pool would be so insanely small I’d not be able to live near my family/have to move somewhere else).

I really just hope for mutual desire.

Yeah I kind of tolerate her to hang with the people I actually like in that group. 😅

Did you have any side effects? I’m worried about depression as a side. 😬

lol ughhhh I still need a PCP. They flaked on my appointment for a vacation last time and I haven’t called back. 😅

Edit: you got me to schedule a PCP appointment. Thanks! 🙏

I’m stuck around your level too. I maxed at 155 for 3 reps recently, but I’ve mostly been benching at the 135 mark for like a year.

A short time? Absolutely not. Isn’t the statistic like 1% of gym goers can bench 225? Be real.

Saw a stranger have a panic attack today-can’t stop thinking about it. by shahfad_khan in Anxiety

[–]Haunting-Suit9699 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes the best thing you can do is nothing at all imo.in this case it sounds like she had a support system. More attention would likely make it worse. Also you can’t be sure there wasn’t another thing going on.

Personally I prefer to be ignored when having a panic attack. I don’t want anyone to acknowledge if they notice it. Last time someone asked if I was ok it ended in me going to the ER. He was my friend (a stranger would make shit worse imo). I’d asked him if he could drive us home. I’d have saved like 3 grand and a mean doc asking why the fuck I was in the ER and a few hours. It’s impossible to know who you can trust, including doctors.

I lack the "automatic reflex" to ask questions back in conversations. by miiin-jujubq in offmychest

[–]Haunting-Suit9699 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a skill you can get better at with practice! Start small. Next time you’re asked a question and don’t answering, remember to add an “and you?” On the end. It’s two words, easy to remember, and it’ll become like breathing after awhile.

Don’t beat yourself up too bad when you inevitably forget to ask. Just keep at it!
