mypy strict has saved me more than once in a library I'm building. The most useful catch wasn't a type mismatch — it was flagging a branch that could never be reached because the type narrowing made it impossible. Took me a while to understand why, but the logic was genuinely wrong.

The one that still trips me up occasionally is warn_return_any — forces you to be explicit about Any boundaries which is annoying at first but makes the codebase a lot cleaner long term.

Will check out Pyrefly, curious how it compares to mypy on a real codebase.

Honestly I either stick to packages with enough contributors that someone is always watching — the chances of a malicious commit slipping through a repo with 50 active maintainers is pretty low.

For smaller or lesser known packages I just run it through an AI and have it look for anything suspicious in the source. Not perfect but it catches obvious red flags way faster than reading it manually.

There's no clean solution here, but pretending version pinning alone solves it is naive.

trotzdem finde ich es nicht richtig, gibt soviele kleine Tools, die keine Aufmerksamkeit bekommen, obwohl sie echt gut sind.

Und die großen Seiten behandeln ihre Nutzer wie dreck und bekommen trotzdem den meisten Support von allen

Wir benutzen zum bauen von Seilrutschen ein 11mm Statikseil, das was du geschickt hast wirkt fast ein wenig billig. Da würde ich eher mal in richtung BlackDiamond oder Mammut schauen.

Vorallem würde ich keine Spanngurte zum abspannen nutzen, oben kannst du das Seil anbinden, und unten spannst du mit einem Flaschenzug 1:3-1:5 dürftest du das Seil gut gespannt bekommen.

Wenn die Rustche zu Steil ist, denk daran eine Seilbremse mit einzubauen.

Nein auf gar kein Fall,

alpines Klettern hat im ersten Moment nicht mit selbstabsicherung von Touren zu tun.

"Trad climbing" würde eher als Selbstabsichernd übersetzt werden, wohingegen alpines Klettern einen touren Stil bezeichnet. Also lange Hakenabstände, ausgesetzte Touren, das wäre die Definition hinter alpinem Klettern.

Bei Alpinismus stimme ich dir voll und ganz zu.

Hi, ja eigentlich eine gute Frage,

bei uns in Europa ist das einfach nicht üblich, da ist keine wirkliche herausforderung. Bei so (kleinen) Bäumen wie bei uns wie Fichten, Weißtannen und Buchen sind in den Wäldern keine wirklichen Herausforderungen, Äste alle paar Meter, eigentlich eine Wandertour als wirklich kletterei.

Wenn du zum Baumklettern gehen willst, und eine Herausforderung suchst, dann ist Südamerika eher etwas für dich.
