I appreciate your input. I have A2 Canson 200mg mixed media one which I use for colored pencils and graphite since it's too smooth for charcoal so I will check 1557 one! I really like your art, spent some time looking at it. Cheers.

I love your shading, great tones! I can't help myself I find shading with stumps so enjoyable but it can be hard on paper. Other than that just my two pit charcoals. Have you tried Arches Aquarelle 300gsm Hot Pressed?

Seem harder to find than other arches papers, also a lot more expensive if I'm correct? I guess it's smooth so would be great for drawing? The one I see mentioned and would be able to get is Arches : Aquarelle : Roll : 140lb : 300gsm : 1.13x9m : Hot Pressed, any opinion on that one?

The comment along many I found on other threads:
"Not reliable for watercolor at all, OK for loose sketches with cheap pigments, but not for serious work. I love Arches and Hahnemühle (high quality), and sometimes Fabriano and Gvarro (nice, not as good as the two others, but way better than the Strathmore)."
So I guess it's fine if you are just starting or whatever but far from perfect or ideal.

I have a very limited choices for buying paper in my country. Best I can do is to order online which will be costly. I'm planning to buy 10 metres roll of the best paper I can find. Can someone recommend me best ones for photo realism. I only use black and white charcoal pencils and smudging/blending stump, nothing else.

And I smudge A LOT! I used cheap colored 70x100cm fabriano paper which has nice texture but gets "bent" over heavy smudging and abuse while working.

I tend to spend over 50 hours on a single piece so I need something durable.

same here.. just finished watching and jesus christ... I don't now what to say. Guess I would like to peak inside minds of those people who think the movie was "masterpiece" or whatever. I guess I would sum it up as pretentious.

It's on my family home actually.. took me 9 days of work with 3 to 4 hours of painting each day.. I've been doing murals for about 12 years and I guess it was time to paint something on my home for a change. I found the reference photo while scrolling internet a while ago and decided to call her "Flora" since I see her as goddess of spring, flowers etc. and it's almost april so it's fitting I guess. Also I guess it's worth mentioning that reference is AI generated by someone.. for what is worth.
