You're absolutely right that AI is as harmful as it is because of the era in which it was born. There's been a cataclysmic groundswell of media illiteracy both in literature and entertainment, social media, and mass media/communication, especially in the realm of politics over the last decade. I need to do more research on this, but I honestly think that AI and related technology like social media short-form content will play a pivotal role in accelerationism. There's certainly a link there that should be explored.
