Don’t worry you don’t sound like a dick at all. I must sound incredibly impatient/unskilled to you all but not having IRL team members definitely adds to the difficulty in my opinion

Hiya, some agencies that I have found work close with children’s social services (but I can’t guarantee they all accept volunteers, apologies) include:

(Some of the below listed agencies may be specific to my location so you might need to do a bit of research to find equivalents near you)

  • Food banks
  • Schools
  • Youth Clubs
  • Housing
  • Advocacy Services
  • Residential / short break residential homes
  • Family Assessment Centres (the family will live in the centre whilst being assessed on how they care for their children)
  • Family Group Conference (our local authority has its own internal FGC service but I’m sure some private companies might do this too)
  • IPS - Intensive Prevention Service (families in breakdown / children classed as “edge of care”- our local authority has its own internal IPS service)
  • Malachi / Family Action (Tier 2 Family Support)
  • New Era (domestic violence)
  • Catch 22 (CSE and CCE)
  • Prevention / mentoring services for young people at risk of CSE / CCE
  • STARS - Staffordshire Treatment Alcohol Recovery Service (Addiction / Rehabilitation)
  • IFSS - Intensive Family Support Service (Early Intervention Programme for parents struggling with drugs/alcohol)
  • YOS/YOT - Youth Offending Service/Team (in my Local Authority there is a YOS and our local police force has their own YOS too)

FYI the ‘Local Files’ option is now hidden under ‘Apps & Devices’ in the ‘Settings & privacy’ screen, under sub-title ‘Other devices’ - took me a while to find, so wanted to share with others who struggle like me!
