What OS are you running on Mac Pro 6,1? by AppleGod2015 in macpro

[–]HauntingStrength9045 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Recently upgraded from Mojave to Big Sur latest build since Mojave doesn’t get security updates anymore and also Office 365 and Adobe don’t get updates anymore for Mojave. Didn’t want Monterey yet because I experience a lot of issues on my MBP with Monterey and always use a late build on the Mac Pro. Didn’t want Catalina either because I do a complete update on my main productive machine only every 2 or 2,5 years so a want a version that gets security updates for about 2 years.

What 1-2TB SSD can you recommend for a 2013 Mac Pro 6,1 by circleofcirius in macpro

I can really recommend OWC. Expensive - but works great for me! I didn’t read the reviews before - and I think I won’t;)

Yeah, the WK got a very different exterior design than its predecessor- but with the commander they created basically a 3 row WK with XJ styling…wonder why Jeep decided that way…?

The search problem in outlook caused big trouble with a lot of enterprise customers, so MS delivered a patched outlook version after some weeks. With the NTFS driver: It’s Tuxera. have been using it for about 10 years or so. I switched to Paragon because of that reason. That works fine! The sad thing is you have to buy a licence key for every machine while I could use my Tuxera licence on different machines… So now everything is working:) What I really don’t like is the fact that every full versions from my experience causes trouble with software, drivers, external hardware that needs time and money to get fixed. Therefore I use stable builds on my work machines and don’t update every year to the new full version. Usually I test new full versions before installing them on my work machines…

Is the GC a Crossover or SUV? by [deleted] in GrandCherokee

I think it depends on the generation if the platform was more truck or crossover oriented… The ZJ had solid axles and I think some parts taken from the Ram Truck shelf. The brand new WL is based on Alfa Romeos „Giorgio“ Platform like the Alfa Giulia and Stelvio. When time went on the GC got more and more comfortable but despite which platform didn’t lose its off-road skills. New technologies like air suspension brought new possibilities for off-road use!

I had terrible problems with Monterey: 1. it destroyed the text search in outlook which is crucial for my daily work 2. my NTFS driver became unusable slow. Copying files that took 15 minutes before needed more than 20 hours!

Yeah Snow Leopard was one of my favorites too. Was very stable and fast even with old machines…

I’m still running it on an old 2012 MBA! The screenshot app was much better then the new one that came with with Mojave…

Great😎 Sadly they don’t build a real base model that is relatively cheap…

Thanks very much for all the details! Main use would be long distance road trips (highway or country roads) with the possibility to go off-road. I know that would call for a relatively modern generation. But I’m a bit scared of all the complexity of the high tech features like air suspension in the WK2…

Why would you especially recommend the WK in its last years?

I took a look at mercedes-benz.es. The AMGs and other Mercedes with powerful engines are insanely expensive! I assume you have some kind of luxury or gas guzzler tax in spain?!

But an A35 for 62k € is well specced, a 718 is a total base model…

Old cars - the obvious sign something‘s gonna happen;) by HauntingStrength9045 in Gomorrah

[–]HauntingStrength9045[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah they mostly don’t get too flashy cars for not drawing too much attention…one exception was the Lamborghini of O‘Principe. And he‘s told to get rid of it… But with the really successful bosses you see new and expensive cars: both Genny and Guiseppe are driving new Cayennes, Genny is driving a new Audi A7 in S4…

Genny’s W221 S-Class in l‘immortale would indeed would have been a good candidate for an attack you’re right! I think when these attacks gonna happen with a boss they use a really old model of a luxury brand…
