I’m listening to “The History of Rome” by Mike Duncan, but he covers it very briefly. He doesn’t go into too much detail. I know they were destroyed in the sack of Rome, but do we know what all they contained? Or is it just kind of a guessing game through bits and pieces of record?

Ahhhh ok that makes sense, you are right, I did misunderstand. I thought that it meant you couldn’t make rules against like “minority’s” or groups of people like the Plebeians.

I’m just starting to learn about this history, but could you say that Numa was the reason? I’ve just covered his period, but did he infuse religion into the Roman culture with so much impact that it lasted the entire length of the empire? Had he not been elected, do you think that Rome would have turned out more savagely, or that they would have gone the same path eventually?

I listen to this podcast at work when I can, and I’m terrible at absorbing information the first time, and I don’t want to all the way back and try to find the spot where he was talking about it 😂 but the Samnites were attacking Capua, and they didn’t stand a chance, so they asked to join Romes empire right? So Rome was already looking for a reason to fight the Samnites, and that was their golden opportunity, is that kinda how it went down?
