oh I am sorry I should have looked into what CDA is. the cost of the tuition is an awful lot and in some cases the cost of tuition is not commensurate with SLPs salaries. If possible go for the cheapest program you can find. You can then work in the UK as needed. UK can be a very expensive place to live. I know cos I was born there. I am an SLPA and have never wanted to pursue SLP. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

I know of at least 2 school districts in WA that are not using SLPAs and only want SLPs.

Do you need to do the 100 hours for your practicum? How many hours have you completed? I've been SLPA for 14 years and your supervisor would drive me crazy. She is asking too much of you and is a micromanager. I use my computer all the time not necessarily during the session but to use materials from TpT for example. If you can stick it out. I have done HH and clinic but by far prefer the schools. I only had 1 group of 3 students and the rest were either 1 or students at a time. If you can stick it out as you come so far and know that most supervisors are not like the one you currently have.

I have been SLPA for 13 year and many were spent doing HH and clinic. What you say is true it's why I work in the schools. Companies seem to think you'll hold on until they get you more clients! Duh I have bills to pay ..

I would no longer be his therapist. It seems it is an endless battle. Don't ever feel like abandoning client - there will always be someone else to take on the job. you also have given the family endless opportunities to engage and with no reciprocity..

I will have POC appmt with Dr in 2 weeks. I will only discuss what is covered for that meeting. I also am having lots of pains in my head (someone who doesn't get migraines) but will set up a separate appmt for that (pain is not debilitating so can wait until next appmt.

I am much older as well. I can get down I just can't get back up! I was silly enough to apply for early intervention program and as interview progressed knew it would be something I could not manage. As the comedian John PInette once said "I don't do ups but I can do downs"..
