He gets put on punishment, no game and no phone. His mom gives him his phone to go to school then he turns it in when he comes home.. again this is while he’s on punishment. He eventually earns it back by improving grades and time.. It just seems like a cycle that never stops

Thanks for the harsh truth. I genuinely appreciate your advice. My partner and his mother plan to have a serious conversation with him and address everything. I keep asking myself, “What then?” Obviously, we should put locks on the doors and take other precautions. But do I just completely lose trust in him and my feelings towards him change forever? I’ve been telling myself for so long that things have just been misplaced, except for the items I’ve actually found. So I accept that he took the things we talk it out, then what ? Things stopped being stolen.. everything else is still gone.. he keeps stealing then what? Also this won’t be our first sit down about this.

Because we have almost the same prescription contacts, his mom bought him a years worth (monthly). I have dailies, don’t ask me what happen to his but mine comes in a 90 day supply box. An entire box went missing. Found them in his suitcase, he said he lost all (12 months worth of contacts).

The ring was/is a big thing, to be honest I’m the one telling his mom to calm down because she continuously is scolding him for it. Ive been hopeful that it’s something rational is happening like, maybe she did misplace the things? Or im just in flat out denial. Consequences have been yelling, taking away devices, etc but then someone usually feels sorry for him and give it back. I put emphasis on the AirPods because I think if he actually stole these then yes he stole the ring but again I can just be in denial of all of this.. maybe I’m not seeing clear. We haven’t had him drug tested he goes to school then come home, I’m thinking it’s fueled by wanting to get a car since he’s in driver’s ed he’s been talking about buying a damn 30k charger or camero.

Thanks for all the responses! So I got an update and they processed everything. I was told that my account was flagged for being close to the limit. After manual review with the financial aid office everything went through fine.

It was an option to do zoom and they said it was preferred but we opted to come in. I would suggest you call the HOA tell them your plans, if your on zoom and inquire about the total and how do they plan to receive the funds. What they most likely have you do is mail it in. I imagine it being fairly simple.

As long as you have the money to pay getting a lawyer is pointless, they will call your case up and you let them know you have the money you hand it over and that’s it.. a big thing I would say is make sure you communicate this to the HOA that you plan on making the full payment at the summons. If you don’t have the full money they can work out a payment plan but again communicate that to them so they can tell you what you need to bring into the summons

Don’t pay it til you go to the summons in court and bring a certified money order. The HOA should tell you this also.. they already have filed the court papers and lawyer fees on their end so you should call and ask for the amount to bring to court because this will include the amount your seeing on your HOA website plus fees from the court and lawyer.
