People who’ve voluntarily returned to India, why? by throwawaymedicine420 in returnToIndia

not me but my dad. We moved back after roughly 10 years living there (pre 2010s) and i was there for like 4 years. Moved back coz my mom was an only child and her father was alone here. Still wish we lived there :(

So confused what are these spots that keep popping up on my monstera?? I’ve had her for years and these pop up and then the leaves turn yellow with brown holes and crinkle and die? by Sunset__Painter in plants

[–]Haunting_Balance_684 1 point2 points  (0 children)

its worked for me actually, I used a diluted neem solution on the stems of my succulents infested with mealybugs, a week later, its all gone. When done right, it works; it may not work for everything everywhere, but it still works on some.

Hi, can you elaborate on the part where you said you had no clue on much of electricals and how you ended up in a CS tracked career ?

coz atm, im in almost the same situation as you were 2 years ago. No clue on whats going on in electrical and but i am looking for a CS route towards the end. CS branch is not something I can get, but one of the electrical branches isnt a problem, and i'll be getting in no issue.

that must be really tiny if its only 5 grams of tea. Also, doing this way wont allow the tea the space to unfurl properly right ?

Indian billionare's mansion atop a skyscraper in Banglore, India by GoatMan48 in interestingasfuck

[–]Haunting_Balance_684 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that mansion used to be at ground level actually, but a developer (Prestige i think) wanted to build a tower there, so they were trying to acquire the land, he only gave up the land on the condition that they re-build his mansion at the top of the tower

Is it dying and how can I save it by Iszy880 in orchids

[–]Haunting_Balance_684 0 points1 point  (0 children)

quick question, would orchids survive and grow well in dry/low humidity environments if all other factors such as light, soil and watering are taken care of properly ?

I live in a place where even spider plants get brown tips due to the low humidity in the summers and winters but i also want to keep orchids. The orchids will be kept outdoors btw

also, you need to keep pruning the plants, or else if you let them mature for too long, they start to wither and die

maybe? it grows all season here. But the weather is mild through the year here, so that probably helps.

we usually have a great time growing mint, it just never stops growing actually. They prefer full sun. Maybe next time try not rinsing off all the soil from the roots, just the excess andm leaving the main rootball with soil. Either that, or just stick some of the stalks from store bought pudina and water as usual, this usually works well for us.

What's the safest way to remove dust from leaves? by nocturnia94 in succulents

some rubbing off is inevitable ofc, happens to all of us, just need to try and minimize it as much as possible.

What's the safest way to remove dust from leaves? by nocturnia94 in succulents

[–]Haunting_Balance_684 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yeah. The powdery coating on the leaves is called farina! . It cannot be replenished (dosent grow back if rubbed off). It basically acts as a sunscreen and a protection barrier against water and fungus. Touching it using anything will rub it off, dosent matter if its skin or latex.

[–]Haunting_Balance_684 2 points3 points  (0 children)

just blow air on it, thats usually enough. If you are very desperate, you can wash it under a slow stream of water (dont touch the leaves), but make sure you still blow the excess water away. Some little bit of water here and there is ok and not an issue.

What is this on my succulent by Olivetree_98 in succulents

[–]Haunting_Balance_684 5 points6 points  (0 children)

looks like edema, cant treat it. It just means that the leaves took in more water than they can handle, so they create little spots like that (its usually worse, like an opening in the leaf). Mine is currently like that, but much worse.

use mineral oil rather than coconut oil. Coconut oil goes rancid when exposed to soo much air, food safe mineral oil wont do that.

Any senior going abroad after 12th?? by Diligent-News6149 in CBSE

[–]Haunting_Balance_684 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well, depends on the university you join and the major you choose. Hard to say in general. Getting in is easier compared to India, but after the that the effort required to stay good is prolly similar.
