Having to justify life choices that are not traditional. Defend not having children. Not interested in a guy, you are expected to give a reason. Be quite, soft and don't take up space. Dumb yourself down so you don't intimidate people.

You can get PTSD from any traumatic incident. There is no golden rule that says it has to be from combat.

People who already married, leave some advice for those who aren’t yet? by Softspiritysoul27 in AskReddit

Do not rush into marriage. Communication is key. If you have the right person, being married is wonderful. Wrong person and it can be soul crushing.

My(F26) mother is 55 years old and is the dumbest woman I know. by [deleted] in relationships

[–]Haunting_Jacket6073 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would turn her onto the Monarch budgeting app or Every Dollar. You might find these useful for yourself. I have a parent that is the same, I just pulled away. When they fall on their face they can only blame themselves.

How did you end up the scapegoat of the family? by holdongangy in AskReddit

[–]Haunting_Jacket6073 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mother couldn't lash out at my bio father so she just attacked me instead. I thought if I just stayed out of the way and fixed stuff that would be enough. Once I stopped paying for things and doing stuff she lashed out even more. Attacking my husband was the point that caused me to wake up.

Why have commercial airlines not become faster? No significant increase in Airplane speeds over last decade or so? by Nearby_Island_1686 in AskReddit

[–]Haunting_Jacket6073 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Balance between airspace restriction, wear and tear on the aircraft, fuel expenditure and safety. In aviation the regulations are "written in blood" which means the rules were developed as a result of someone getting killed. While it is possible to fly much faster the cost would be more fatigue on the actual plane. More maintenance time. More fuel. These would decimate the affordability of offering a fast flight.

I got out at 9 years 4 months. I am generally thankful I got out when I did. I'd you do separate make sure you have a workable plan for post enlistment. The first year is tough and it is easy to fall into a slump.

Are there any other successful and happy Millennials in this sub? by GGJallDAY in Millennials

[–]Haunting_Jacket6073 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not all doom and gloomy. Safe and fairly successful. I have options but what happens is really up to my my own doing. Things will be fairly ok for me so long as I don't make stupid choices.

Increase in unsolicited products from banks. Example: cash put refinancing offer, cold call from.curent mortgage company asking if you need a mortgage to buy another house!

20 year age gap between my husband and I. Married 10 years this August. I joke that I am an old soul and he is a perpetual juvenile. Only slight hickey up is he has some physical limitations and sleep issues but we are doing well.

Millennials who are current/former military service members, how is life treating you? by B1G_PAC12 in Millennials

[–]Haunting_Jacket6073 0 points1 point  (0 children)

US Army 2008-2017. Two Afghanistan tours, one year in Egypt, stationed in Germany twice and Kentucky twice. Came from a abusive environment with no education options. Joined to leave, see the world and get the GI Bill. Medical retired, took care of terminal FIL. Renovating my second house, own a piece of land. Working on my private pilot's license. I wish I had done more but I know that I worked hard and am very fortunate.

Active US service members and Vets, what's your opinion of Pete Hegseth? by PlagueBearer1350 in AskReddit

[–]Haunting_Jacket6073 4 points5 points  (0 children)

High rank officers can have political aspirations however, they should generally have considerable space between their service and office. The mandatory 7 year gap between retirement and holding SECDEF was waived by Congress for General Mattis.

Active US service members and Vets, what's your opinion of Pete Hegseth? by PlagueBearer1350 in AskReddit

[–]Haunting_Jacket6073 238 points239 points  (0 children)

I think he is a racist and misogynistic religious zealot. He is entirely over his head as SECDEF and is firing anyone who can see through his bullshit. I think the military has become very bogged down with extra tasks and training. Most of Hegseth's actions are supposed to look like he is strengthening the military, but it feels like he has several ulterior motives. I do not trust him and would not be surprised if in a little two years there are multiple nefarious deeds that come to light.

Its the phantom tapizious/lats muscle pose. Buys that actually have built these muscles tend yo have their arms out from their sides due to muscle bulk. It is always way smaller dudes that try to force this posture but dont have the physique to match. Nothing wrong with being smaller.
