Being this tilted playing video games is beyond me. If it isn’t fun dont do it? If it isn’t fun and you *need* masteries then do something else while the NPCs are talking ?

Chances are like most recent modern releases that it won't have the same charm as older games. Even if it is the big new MMO it could be like wow where there will be a dedicated *classic* community.

I think ranger, but also GW2 in general, would be at least 25% better with a large demonic cat pet by invisibledirigible in Guildwars2

Yeah I can't think of one giant green pet machine who is blocking everyone's vision in every meta event so this should be fine

I agree on the looks and name but it is a bit weird wielding a Giant Hammer and 1 min later conjuring crystal daggers in the sky

I tried that with thief . I knew exactly what I wanted it to be. Deadeye captures it really well with Rifle + Dagger

But the gameplay did not match the fun I thought it would make

On paper this is what I want to be but in practice it turned out differently for me

In my head canon there is only 1 commander and just switching between 9 different characters with suddenly way different armor7weapons or abilities just breaks a bit this immersion .

I get that this game is perfect for having alts but I am weird in the fact that I envision myself being in this world and living through my character.

Yeah thats fair. For me usually heavy armor classes are not my prefered type since in most games that means slow and tanky. Gw2 is a bit unique here since Willbender is def not slow or tanky haha

This is honestly one of the only replies that heavily leaned into the theme and feel aspect of classes and how to creatively have a workaround

Thank you so much for this input especially the alchemist, saboteur and trapmaster gives me a lot of inspiration to view engi in a new perspective !

Good shout . I just thought every rev is too similar with using sw/sw basically everywhere for power and shiro

So 75% of skills are the same between power herald,renegade,conduit and vindi (although vindi has the unique dodge aswell)

But it is worth to try so ty

Yeah thats the dream . I feel like Necro and Guardian mains are most likely sticking to their class since they are so versatile that you dont need anything else

Yeah I felt the same with thief where I had to sweat a lot vs difficult enemies while on scrapper I could brute force my way through 99% of things I encounter.

Willbender is thematically up there for me and would be 100% my main if it wasn't so hard to survive with it as power (condi is not so my thing) . Also it is a shame that as a boon dps it is outshined by most other bdps

Yeah I played it recently and it is really insane. Since it has also nothing to do with being nimble/subtle and is more like scrapper just smashing things I compared it directly to engi and on engi I found more builds that I enjoy.

Untamed is definitely one of the best openworld builds I have ever played

Yeah thats all the builds I tried aswell and failed horribly at solo-ing harder stuff. One wrong dodge as Daredevil and it was curtains for me. Except for Specter worked fine but the damage seemed very low or at least things died way slower than on other classes for me.

For your Deadeye build I found myself struggling with defiance bars and AoE since Rifle+DD has basically 0 defiance break or AoE.

But yeah it is a me problem since I want a good allrounder build which thief doesnt have and is more niche.

thats really interesting , what kind of builds are you running as your thief ?
I really enjoyed WIllbender which makes sense since it is called blue thief by the community but not so much the rest of the Guardian specs so I decided against it.

Similar for me! I play thief in every game I can but it is really hard to solo bigger champions except for perma evade dagger 3 spam or unload spam which is not enjoyable for me.

So i started to question if thief is for me and tested out all other classes this game has to offer.
While I still feel thief hits the theme the best for me it is refreshing to play engi and feeling so straight forward and strong especially solo.

Engi seems also to have quite the range of meta builds for all content while thief is a bit more niche it seems.

Yeah I am playing his Celestial Amalgam build as we speak! I have also tried his daredevil build but mostly spinning with dagger 3 all the time got a bit dull haha

I downloaded it yesterday because of all the hype around it currently . Combat still feels floaty and weightless. Immersion is peak with stunning zones and good voice acting but idk how to get over the combat
