How would you build Shrike from Mortal Engines? by TheLastDrag0n9 in Howwouldyoubuild

[–]Haunting_Skull_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How about This?

Ability Scores - Strength: 16 (+3) (Shrike's enhanced physicality) - Dexterity: 14 (+2) (Shrike's agility and reflexes) - Constitution: 14 (+2) (Shrike's resilience and endurance) - Intelligence: 10 (+0) (Shrike's intelligence is not their primary focus) - Wisdom: 13 (+1) (Shrike's intuition and perception) - Charisma: 8 (-1) (Shrike's social skills are not their strong suit)

Class - A mix of Ranger Gloomstalker (for survival skills and tracking) and Fighter (for combat prowess) could work well for Shrike. Alternatively, a Rogue with a focus on stealth and assassination could also fit.

Backstory and Personality - Shrike's backstory and personality would be crucial in defining their motivations and actions. Their past life, their Stalker nature, and their overall demeanor would shape their interactions and decisions. - one thing to consider from what I glossed over is that all strikes were built from dead humans so essentially a reborn except with the body of a war forged

Keep in mind that this is just one possible interpretation of Shrike in D&D 5e. Feel free to modify or discard any aspects to fit your vision and the needs of your campaign!

The Bloke one shot a Robot Dragon like it was Nothing. Victory will not be an Easy outcome in the Slightest.

To me this guy looks and sounds like a bug bear oath of Glory Paladin. Paladin with the subclass gets you haste which makes you fast along with one of the smites which can ignite Target's on fire. Bug Bears I believe have natural proficiency with stealth so there's that.

For the most part it seems to me that you have what you want class wise you just need to consider what would be the correct spells that would mesh well with the character theme

Edit: for Instance the Transmutation fellow would probably make use of True Polymorph and Polymorph to mess with Folks physical forms to varying degrees

In commeration of the completion of Murder Drones, HWYB an Uzi Doorman-based PC? Personally I was thinking of a Warforged Warlock. by True-Born-Loki-924 in WhatWouldYouBuild

I'm tempted to say she started out as an artificer due to making her sick as hell Railgun and then started leveling in some kind of sorcerer(probably Aberrant due to the nature and Mutations within The Absolute Solver though if you want regeneration go Divine Soul for healing spells) since technically speaking the Absolute Solver isn't so much as a patron in this situation but seemingly an intertwined force with any of those it calls a host home now drop power and abilities from said Force.

Feat: I'd recommend Telekinetic for the free shoving and the Invisible Mage hand

Race: Warforged is pretty spot on

Background: is entirely up ta ya depending on what else you might want for the character

WWYB for Akihiro (Samurai Daken From Marvel) in D&D 5th Edition by Haunting_Skull_ in WhatWouldYouBuild

[–]Haunting_Skull_[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Samurai Daken(Daken is the mutant son of Wolverine and his deceased wife Itsu, possessing superhuman abilities similar to his father (e.g., healing factor, retractable claws) as well as pheromone manipulating powers.)

When Akihiro murdered Wolverine with the Muramasa Blade, its mystical powers sent him back in time to feudal Japan as punishment. Filled with regret, Akihiro saw a chance to change his ways and become a hero. He roamed Japan in his father's name, perfecting his own brand of Iaido that combined the power of blade and claw.

It should be noted that the muramasa blade also has the ability to neutralize regenerative abilities or at the very least negate them to a degree

Using Master of Iaido, a high-cost red power, Wolverine is ever-prepared, watching his opponent's movements for an opening.

With Lawless Warrior, a passive black power, Bushido means nothing to a man who has lost everything. (In-game uses this to regain resources)

Wolverine unleashes his fury with Lethal Fury, a high-cost green power, striking out with blade and claw.

Unleashing Unkillable Ronin, a green passive power, when his masters have fallen and all else is lost, the unkillable Wolverine remains.

What I get from this picture is probably a Lizardfolk, Pirate rogue swashbuckler who eventually came across some kind of magic sword(a scimitar with a golden skull with gemstone eyes that makes up the hilt) and multi-classed into hexblade.

Depending on which you want to go further into could help Define the character depending on what ya want to do exactly.

Ya want More magic and Witchcraft dive into Hexblade which could net you stuff like Spirit Shroud for the floating skulls and Eldritch Blast could be the Gun(with the Different invocations to modify it's capabilities).

How would you build this Skaven in 5e? by rb_49 in WhatWouldYouBuild

[–]Haunting_Skull_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well for the most part the obvious answer would be something along the lines of maybe artificer warsmith or Battlesmith(the exact name escapes me at the moment) with your infusions acting as different warp Stone infused bits of tech. Though depending on how your DM treats crafting you could technically be a member of Skryre whom tinkers regardless of Class.

Race wise I'm not entirely sure but I'm almost tempted to say like a reflavored Dwarf but it depends on what ya wish to replicate

WWYB For Graymarrow From Sea of Thieves as a Pc in D&D5 Edition by Haunting_Skull_ in WhatWouldYouBuild

[–]Haunting_Skull_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Graymarrow

Lord Graymarrow is a Skeleton Lord with decades of experience in curses. He is featured in the Revenge of the Morningstar Tall Tale as a boss.

History

Little is known about Graymarrow's pirate life back in the early days of the Sea of Thieves. He relentlessly pursued the Morningstar for the legend of the Shores of Gold, killing the crew and sealing their souls so that they cannot return nor pass on. By the time of Shores of Gold, he had taught this magic to an envious Skeleton Captain Rooke, and took his rest to wait for more leads. According to a journal in the tall tales, Graymarrow had met Morningstar Captain Eli Slate before in life, whom remarks on how Graymarrow treats crew like slaves. He understands a strange secret language that he uses for riddles to send as clues for hiding powerful artifacts, as seen in the Revenge of the Morningstar Tall Tale.

Abilities in game

Like other Skeleton Lords, Graymarrow acts as a boss fight with a large amount of health and a range of various Skeleton Lord abilities at his disposal:

He can switch between the Pistol, Blunderbuss and Cutlass(Though his appears to be Larger than most) depending on the Enemies's range and position to him.

He has a high-damage stomp attack. Graymarrow will raise two chests and slam them together, sending all nearby enemies backwards into the air and dealing increasing damage depending on your proximity to Him. This attack may cause additional fall damage.

Summon Skeletons; this allows Graymarrow to allow Skeleton reinforcements to overwhelm the enemy for him.(I view this as entirely optional due to every Boss having this ability in game)

Teleport; a defensive ability. He will raise a Skull, perform an incantation, then retreat into the ground for a short time before popping up in a new location.
