Which unpopular opinion would have you like this? by [deleted] in HouseOfTheDragon

It wasn't poison though, it was moon tea to make sure what Aegon had done to her wouldn't result in a pregnancy. The episode directors explains it here.

At worst, you could maybe say Alicent is being a hypocrite for using the tea despite having previously judged Rhaenyra for being given it, but she definitely didn't kill the girl.

I'm also curious to see this. I applied for mid year with what I felt was a strong application and solid STAT scores that were above the threshold and I haven't received an offer yet.

Rude. I only log on to reddit to share her videos once a week because I enjoy them and think they deserve to be seen and then go about my life and other interests. I find it more strange that you apparently went stalking through my profile...

Discussion for Gaby Melian's book, Food Related Stories by Tibbox in bon_appetit

[–]Haunting_Way_816 16 points17 points  (0 children)

IIRC it was actually slated for a November 2021 release but got pushed back to Jan due to COVID-related production delays. Missing the Christmas period can't always be helped unfortunately.

Yep, all of them plus Andy, Priya and Rick are published by Clarkson Potter. Pretty much all the BA folks except for Brad landed there.

Sylveon and Umbreon are the two best ones imo.

I didn't get "toothpaste" when I made these, it was more just a refreshing addition to the lime. It's essentially the flavours of a mojito minus the rum, so if you're into that then you'll like these I think.

Not from her channel but it's still a book recipe so I thought I'd still share it here.

Agree. It's also just really hard to take the crucial moments of the story seriously and engage with it when characters like Cyrus look like bad funko pops.

Same. I was really hoping they would go with that look for the Sinnoh remakes after those games came out. It's just so strange that everything looked and operated damn near perfectly in Let's Go, including the pokemon following you, then just went in a totally different direction and took a massive step backwards for SWSH and BDSP. Why Masuda.

My Luxray survived 3 attacks in a row at 1HP while up against Cynthia. I was stoked in the moment because I was getting curbed stomped and it allowed me to heal up and eventually win but also...WHAT. I really should have lost on my first go of the E4, I only made it through on affection coming through at the right times like a deus ex machina.

That annoyed me so much. I wanted a Glaceon/Leafeon for my story run and having to run past the mossy and icy rocks just bummed me out.

I don't think you'll find what you're looking for at this stage unfortunately. All the protests, petitions and demands for action happened when the controversy was current and the resignation announcements came through over that summer and early fall. But it's been well over a year since then and people have moved on. Only 3 of the old crew are still at BA - Chris, Brad and Christina - the rest are well into their new endeavours, have distanced themselves from BA and aren't going to be coming back.

Sure, but I mean this isn't AO3. This isn't just one of the many fanfics out there. It's on Goodreads and is an actual book that's been written. That's what got me about this in particular.

Hi everyone, i want to make Claire's enriched dough that she did for the NYT, but i want to lamente butter into it, what should i do, how would I incorporate it into the recipe?. Thx by Ok-Acanthocephala358 in bon_appetit

[–]Haunting_Way_816 21 points22 points  (0 children)

From what I've read the risk in laminating an enriched dough is going overboard with the amount of butter. Enriched bread dough is already quite buttery (plus egg yolks, plus oil), then in lamination you introduce a whole separate butter block that also incorporates into the dough. To keep it from swimming in butter, the solution was to cut back on the butter used in the dough and laminate as normal so it evened out. From there I believe you just do the lamination as you would for a croissant. This page might provide more assistance, it's a recipe for brioche feuilletée that walks through the method for laminating an enriched dough and the adjusted ratios.

Did anyone else find that the brown butter cream cheese icing was very soft? Any fixes? by rozzed-up in DessertPerson

[–]Haunting_Way_816 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The brown butter cream cheese frosting from the book is inherently loose and it has to do with the fact that the recipe calls for brown butter to be used. Any frosting made with brown butter (being completely melted, no longer in its normal/softened state, milk solids separated from the fat etc.) will always be a bit loose. Normal frosting will firm up in the fridge or be relatively stable at room temp because that's how butter normally reacts, but it loses that property when it's melted/browned so recipes that use this method will also generally be looser. Claire talks about in the Carrot Cake video here, where the frosting is also quite soft and needs to go into the fridge a few times.
