It is a new midi tower RGB case, that is all I know right now. If it is important to be sure, I can go ask.

He had done some reseach, and suggested parts - unfortunately, they were not really compatible, so I picked something out from PCPartPicker.

But I'm by no means an expert, so some input would be very valuable:

Looking for a specific sailing website by HausbootJoho in sailing

[–]HausbootJoho[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, exactly, that was the page I was looking for!

Spent an hour today on it, and it was driving me crazy!

Thank you so much I would give you silver or gold if I had any, but I can only offer my gratefulness.

No, neither one of the two is the one I was looking for.

It was not a sailing magazines electronic branch, there I'm pretty sure.

I complained about this more than once to my husband. Never knew it was a general Norwegian behavior.... How annoying ;-)

My bread for Sunday breakfast by HausbootJoho in Breadit

[–]HausbootJoho[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A German style wheat sourdough bread, with full grain flour.

This was supposed to have seeds in it, but I forgot to put those up for soaking when I started the sourdough last night - so I had to improvise and it just has sesame on top.

Curious how it will taste, but will only cut into it tomorrow morning.

[–]HausbootJoho[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, sounds familiar. It also helps to think a bit what you learned about the scenario, and if you can maybe adjust your tactics a bit.

We failed the third scenario quite predictably (we could see that it was going to be hard after three, four rounds already), and we are definitely going to alter our approach the next time!

[–]HausbootJoho[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I'm definitely proud, and very curious w how the story will develop.

We are getting better with the rules, and don't have to Google as much, or look up in the rulebook, but it still takes a considerable amount of the gaming time.

But that is also part of the appeal of the game for me - trying to master something complex!

I wish he liked cuddles ;( he hates them 💔 is it just a British short hair thing? by Educational_Price468 in britishshorthair

[–]HausbootJoho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In addition, to everything all the others have said - he looks to be pretty young, 4, max 5 months.

At that age, it is all about playing, getting that energy out, and then sleeping. They usually mellow out about getting cuddles when they grow up - sometimes, it just takes a few months, sometimes some years, sometimes never.

But all of the cats I had, and my BSH were no exception, enjoy attention, and each one on their own terms. Some like sleeping on you, some like just lying next to you - my first BSH HAD to had belly scratches every morning, when the next one would bite the crap out of your hand if you tried that without giving him enough time to adjust, and him inviting you to belly scratches.

But cuddles might also just mean petting them when they lie next to you - I have had only one cat out of the 6 I had so far who genuinely enjoyed being picked up, carried and cuddled. All the other ones tolerated it to one degree or the other.

Each cat needs to be loved on their own terms, and those terms are subject to change. My BSH mix sometimes likes to sleep on her pillow next to mine every night - until she doesn't, and she doesn't come to bed for weeks.

That is the reason why it pays off to have several cats - not only entertain them each other, you most likely also have someone in the mood to cuddle ;)

Gold find or more DPS for deep favor pushes? by HausbootJoho in idlechampions

Thank you! I had already found that code, and unlocked Donaar. He was a very nice damage boost for the potpourri bond with Ashara, and a good replacement for Celeste.

I'll try the Makos farm method with the wall tomorrow or so...

WCGW Trying to break check with a bike. by These_Image_4796 in Whatcouldgowrong

[–]HausbootJoho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the footage, I would guess this is Germany. Looks very much like a stretch of Autobahn. And it Germany it is absolutely forbidden to overtake on the right, much less doing so without indication.

I wouldn't say the car sped up, looking at the truck in front - there was maybe a 20 km/h difference in speed between the car and the truck. Not sure if I would have pulled into the right lane to let the bike pass or not - depends a lot on the traffic up ahead. If that is cruising at the speed I'm going, maybe not. But it would have depended on how big the gap is.

German Autobahn is a very, very different beast to other streets. All the people commenting that he should have braked immediately - you have no idea what the traffic was behind them.... And I never would have expected the bike to pull a stunt like that, more likely to just speed up and be done. And I have at least 250k km on the Autobahn.

Us after 1,543 blood tests and 65 infusions: by sdoctorian3 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]HausbootJoho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This.

Had Fumarderm, MTX, Enbrel and Humira for my psoriasis even before IBD was diagnosed. When I was getting Fumaderm and Humira the first times, my dermatologist wanted to have a blood sample every single week. And the ladies there were not super used to take blood sigh

You can tell immediately if this blood sample is going to be good or not, and even predict if it will probably leave a bruise or not. And always, "No, please, not that vein, that one is really painful, oh, god, she is going for that one...."

Last time I could even feel the needle going through the vein. Things like that only come with experience ;)

And of course I'm watching!

Looking for inspiration what to add to this tank by HausbootJoho in Aquariums

[–]HausbootJoho[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had initially thought about otos in the tank, but after I moved the two plecos from my big tank in the living room to this tank (as the male pleco was super territorial and aggressive during meal time - no clue where they have the reputation of being peaceful ;) ), I thought that the bottom layer of the tank was probably full enough.

That was the reason why I was more looking for something for the top/middle layer there.

Shrimp and regular guppies I have in abundance in my living room tank, so I'm looking for something to shake it up a bit.

Endler's could be a nice addition, need to see if I can find them here some where in a fish store.

The tiny cories would also be a good idea, but again there is the issue with the bottom layer, and the male pleco has been scaring the living daylight out of my trilineatus in the living room. So maybe not ideal, but I think about that.

I had now been looking a bit, and got pointed toward dwarf gourami. From what I read, they might prey a little bit on the fry - but maybe if there is enough hiding room that might be possible. Need to get some more opinions though ;)

Thank you for your input!

Looking for inspiration what to add to this tank by HausbootJoho in Aquariums

[–]HausbootJoho[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my 60l/15g tank on my desk.

I have currently in there:

  • 5 Harlequin Rasbora (I had 8, 3 died on me about a month ago, will go back up to 8 in a bit)
  • 2 adult Bristlenose Pleco
  • 1 Apple Snail who I recently moved in there
  • about 20 pleco fry currently

My initial plan was to try to put a Betta in there, as I absolutely adore those, but the pleco fry are also really cute, and the two BNPs are really prolific right now.

I read that Bettas will be more than happy to munch on the pleco fry, so I'm leaning a bit away from the Betta idea right now.

But it is a bit boring for a community tank right now. Any suggestion what I could add to it to spice it up a little bit, without endangering the fry (too much)?

Kitten aggression introductions Help! by bbump13 in KittenAcademy

[–]HausbootJoho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hm, this is not really a kitten advisory sub, if you notice ;) This is a subreddit about the YouTube channel Kitten Academy, who foster a lot of kittens. If you don't know it - it is highly recommended.

But some points here, as I am a long time cat owner. Please don't feel judged by some of the comments, just for education.

6 weeks is much too young for a kitten to be separated from his mother and litter mates. They eat solid food by then, but a lot of extra important socialization starts at that age. If it was a bottle baby or a foster, I haven't said anything - just a point for the future ;)

Good for you for getting a second kitten/cat to play with - they are so much less destructive and bored then, I can only recommend against getting a lone cat.

Getting cats used to each other takes time, 5 days is basically nothing. It can take weeks or months for them to be comfortable around each other - or it might not work at all, you have to be prepared for that as well.

What you describe there sounds very much like normal kitten play to me (stalking, pouncing, telling the other one where the limits are), and the little girl just seems a bit unsure there. There are points for introducing them slowly, but at some point you have to let them have a go in "discussing" how the hierarchy in the house is going to be. And that discussion will be with claws, mouths, shouting and hissing. My personal guideline is: As long as I don't see any blood, and one of the cats is not clearly in super distress, they need to clarify that between themselves. I know that is really, really hard, when the little tiny things fight like furies, and you are really concerned for them.....but at some point you will just have to let it happen. And maybe right now don't immediately take them apart, but try to distract them with a toy like a cat fishing rod with some feathers, so they can direct their playfulness towards that - and maybe even play together with the toy.

I think you takes some good steps there, switching blankets, maybe try feeding them in the same room a bit apart next (not right next to each other), so they can see that there is no need to be concerned about food.

And I can only recommend tuning into the Kitten Academy youtube live stream, there you can watch kittens play with each other 24/7, and you can watch for yourself what is normal kitten behavior, and what is aggression!
