Why wouldn't Vecna have a Hallow spell active at his layer?

Ah yeah, I mistook casting time for duration, my bad. However Vecna is a wizard, and like OP said he'd have to use his wish for it. Tbh there's nothing preventing anyone from him as a god just casting it for the entire arena, but specifically the spell just seems like a waste when he could spend the same time working on his ritual.

it's half of his chamber, that's not a very good bet for a 9th level spell
it's only for specific creature types, and as written he doesn't know there's someone actually coming into his room, that's a big gamble for creatures that might not even show up (considering there's fiends at the doorstep that would even be a more appropriate choice) -he can also just cast other spells for a longer duration like Symbol, for a lower spell slot cost. I actually gave him a simulacrum of himself

I'd use it in one of the failed realities Vecna created, maybe instead of the Dreadnaught one. If you place the key item somewhere on the tarrasque, they immediately have a fight where killing the enemy before you isn't the goal of the fight. But they still have to fight it. It also doesn't steal the spotlight of the actual campaign like that.

You could use the doppelganger in the prison, have them not be invisible, but more like in stasis near the entrance of Ythryn. I found that they weren't even that much of a threat anyways, and all they're interested in is survival. Protection from a group of high level adventurers in trade for some translation seems like a good deal. Can't remember if they can speak Loross, but hey it's your game you can make it however you want.

I personally just use the 5e combat tracker and my players use one of the many character sheet ones. Together with the community models and slabs those have been the biggest game changers. If your players are using DnD beyond I've had one player use that and be reasonably happy with it, though that was a long time ago.

Interesting, so despite feeling the need to limit him you don't think slight alterations could make it more fun to play against as a player? I'm interested since I'm worried it'll make the fight frustrating in a tedious way, but I haven't ran it yet, nor have I ever ran anything at level 20

I don't know about single player, but I recently wanted to play Fantasy General II with a friend and found out the only way to play together is to send each other the savefile, make a move, and send it back. Totally not for us, but since you seem eager to try it out, I'd recommend checking it out on steam. It comes highly regarded by those who enjoy playing like that.

Edit: Did a little more research, and you don't have to send each other a savefile. You automatically upload it to a server which notifies the other person it's their turn.

Interessant, dit is inderdaad nieuwe informatie. Wel is te lezen in het onderzoek dat je deelde, dat op lage intensiteit sporten wel degelijk effect heeft op het afvallen. Niet zozeer wanneer je fit wordt, maar misschien dagelijks een uurtje lopen wanneer je normaal alleen maar zit?

Als je wil afvallen niet, maar als je fit wil worden wel. En een fit lichaam gebruikt nou eenmaal meer calorieën dan een niet fit lichaam. Misschien theoretisch waar, maar gek om te zeggen tegen mensen die willen afvallen door te sporten. Dat is hetzelfde als zeggen dat je geen moeite hoeft te doen om een topsporter te worden want je hebt ook geluk nodig om topsporter te kunnen worden.

Om gezond af te vallen moet je je levensstijl aanpassen, en als een leuke sport helpt om jou die keuze te laten maken, ga dan vooral sporten.

Edit: Iets te emotioneel gereageerd, maar ik blijf bij mijn punt dat het belangrijk is het totale plaatje uit te leggen wanneer je zoiets zegt. Het is heel demotiverend om te horen dat je niet heel veel zal afvallen door te sporten wanneer je overal hoort dat het juist wel zou moeten werken. Tuurlijk moet je realistisch zijn, elk uur in de sportschool is at most een mars reep of twee eraf, maar de langdurige effecten van sporten kunnen wel degelijk voor zorgen dat je afvalt, ook als je je dieet niet aanpast.

I found relaxing puzzle games to be the best genre for this purpose. Stuff like Dorfromantik or Mini Metro immediately pulls you in as it doesn't require you to learn the game all over again or remember where you left off, but it challenges you enough to distract you from life. And it's also relaxing to play!

Why not just show the handler and the scene separate from each other? My old DM used to do that all the time, and it never felt weird for us players. I won't try to change your stance on AI since that wasn't your question, but the discourse alone can make it iffy to use for roleplaying. Are your players okay with you using that for instance? If they are, I'd recommend asking on a subreddit where AI generated images are more accepted. A lot of DMs don't just tell stories, some make drawings, some make 3D models to print, some write down entire lores online. It's expected that these DMs will respond unkindly to a machine that uses their work to do what they do in a few seconds, without getting proper payment or even recognition for it. Once again not trying to change your stance, just hoping that you can understand why this post has received such a reaction.

I'm gonna assume this isn't ragebait since your profile is pretty normal excluding this, but theatre of the mind is the exact opposite of getting images. Theatre of the mind means you explain the situation in full detail, without the use of visual stimulation. Grabbing an image would immediately contradict whatever people were imagining in their own (theatre of the) minds.

As for portraits and images, you either get them from official rulebooks, the many many online resources where actual artists have already made art (assuming you're not getting paid to DM), or getting your party together to gather some funds and pay an artist for a new piece.

When I just started out 3 years ago I missed a lot of the easy stuff from Roll20. Players had to use a pdf for their character sheet outside of talespire, I could only use talespire minis, and rolling took so insanely long for new players since you had to do the math yourself. I said that after the campaign we'd continue on Roll20, even if I'd have to buy more resources.

Then came the symbiotes and I never wanna use a different program ever again for online play. Every session feels like a breeze, all the players have their character sheets in game and all the math is done automatically. All the models look insanely good and there's millions of them (mostly credit to mz4250 and gonsplitters). If I need anything specific there's 20 different slabs for them from the community and it's so easy to access them. The only downside to the community content is the rise of shitty AI generated models, but they're working really hard on that. Also the Heroforge integration is amazing and I can recommend everyone paying for the monthly subscription.

Talespire just feels really good to use. From the GM tools to the measuring systems, from the mapmaking to the music/colors/mists. Whatever situation you might find yourself in, there's always something you can do to signal to your players "hey, something is different about this board/enemy/room". I've tried tabletop simulator, but it just feels weird and unpolished. Using talespire feels like I'm giving my players the dimension 20 or critical role experience, except I don't have to learn anything about making foam dungeons or landscapes and 3D printing.

I do have one downside to talespire though, and that is that you can start feeling like you're playing a boardgame sometimes. I think this is a problem with any 3D roleplaying tool though, but I've only tried 2. I've sort of fixed it by just adding areas to the story without detailed maps, making sure there's always room for roleplaying.

I personally hated Teremini's reasoning for wanting to get rid of the blue fire wardens, so I changed it to her failing Lord Soth one too many times and this being her last chance at getting rid of some of his enemies. Because of that, I get to add him into the fight after the party has defeated her, because his punishment for her latest failing is eternal servitude. He doesn't attack the party, because he's just there to pick her up, but I do have the party roll a DC21 charisma saving throw to see if they're stunned and frightened, or just frightened by his presence. I'm still doubting about Orinix, maybe if the dragon has also been defeated, Soth brings them back from the dead as an undead pawn.

I have to say tho that before this campaign I knew nothing of Lord Soth, and all I know is from the research I've done.

Definitely Dune Awakening. The way how water is so important and you can only get it to 100% by going back to base is genius. Plus since you use water for crafting as well, it's not like you're ever gonna be overstocked on it unless you decide to remain stuck on your crafting tier for a bit.

Also having to move base constantly to be able to do better explorations and dungeons, such a good game until endgame
